Santa Cruz goes all-out to build the fastest mountain bike to ever sit atop their lineup: the redesigned Blur. Upping the ante and tapping into years of experience crafting high-quality carbon frames, Santa Cruz propels the Blur with the Superlight suspension that converts as much of our energy as possible into podium finishes and big mileage days. Whether we're looking to get to the top of the local leaderboard or the top step of this weekend's podium, the Blur Carbon CC X01 Eagle AXS Reserve Mountain Bike is the perfect platform to do it on. This hyper-fast cross-country bike has efficiency at its core both up and down the mountain. The 100mm of travel front and rear support race day efforts while flying over harsh terrain and aggressive singletrack. The Blur has us whizzing by the competition while still staying composed and supportive on every pedal stroke. The new Blur ditches Santa Cruz VPP suspension and in turn, ditches a considerable number of grams over the previous generation.

Santa Cruz kits this bike out with progressive geometry numbers to match the aggressive cross-country courses seen on the circuit today. In the XC version, a 68.3-degree head tube angle gets us rolling through harsh chundery terrain while retaining the knife-like precision handling we demand on race day. The saddle is supported by a steep 76.5-degree seat tube angle which helps us keep our weight over the top for those aggressive steep hill climbs. Though only supported by 100mm of travel front and rear, the geo makes the bike ride much more capable than the suspension numbers suggest.

Spec on the Blur couldn't be better, with AXS shifting performance mated to carbon hoops and plush, responsive suspension. The X01 Blur is specced to the nines, featuring full wireless shifting from SRAM and nearly indestructible Reserve wheels in the 28mm internal option. With the wheels comes the Maxxis Aspen 2.4WT tires. These tires aren't our 1.9in XC tires from yesteryear and instead feature a wider tread pattern for less rolling resistance and better grip. A finishing kit from Rockshox/SRAM takes care of the suspension and braking duties, with the SidLuxe rear shock handling harsh terrain out back. This Blur isn't like the others, and it has us flying down new trails and ripping up climbs faster than ever. Every ride is like riding a rocket ship on wheels, and we can't wait to throw a leg over it after a long day at work.
