Ditch the backpack.
There's no easier way to stay hydrated during your runs than with Salomon's Hydro Handset, which uses a moisture-wicking stretch carrying system, compressible soft flask, and a small pocket to keep you comfortable, hydrated, and organized while you're busy burning up the miles. The flask actually compresses as you drink for easier carrying as the miles go on, and the pocket offers enough space for your keys, phone, or energy gels.

Great for short runs
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
New to the handset game, my expectations were low. I found that this set-up is hassle-free and doesn't bother me on runs. It is lightweight and breathable, easy to strap on and quick to refill. I sometimes find myself adjusting the strap mid-run after the bottle compresses, but I am able to do it quickly and don't have a problem with getting all of the water out. It feels natural on the top of the hand and the push and bite to drink also feels natural. Keeps me from having to wear a full vest and find that I can stay out longer and move quicker. Get after it.
Different but in a good way
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I really like this design for a handset. It sits more inside and against your wrist than a traditional handset. It took me a few runs to get used to the change but once I did I was glad for the change. I used this on my first trail marathon and it was fantastic. As I've transitioned into longer trail runs without a point to refill my bottle I've switched to vests, but for 2 hour outings with or runs with refill options the Hydro Handset is a solid option.
