Guaranteed to work on your car.

The frustrating thing about shopping online is not being able to touch the item you're buying. If you're buying a pair of jeans, it can be difficult to tell whether the jeans will fit once they arrive. The same goes for bike racks, especially if you have factory crossbars on your car. Well, here's a refreshing idea that takes the frustration out of buying bike racks online–RockyMounts GUARANTEES that its TieRod Bike Mount will fit on your factory crossbars. They can do this because of the TieRod's unique design. It uses rubber-coated stainless steel straps to secure it to the cross bars and takes just minutes to install.

RockyMounts doesn't make crossbars. Because of that, the TieRod is designed to work with both Yakima's round bars and Thule's square bars, as well as factory racks. The TieRod is also compatible with road and mountain bikes, as long as they have a standard QR fork. It works with bikes that have rim brakes and disc brakes. The 45 inch tubular tray will accommodate almost any bike. RockyMounts makes a special model for folks with recumbents and XtraCycles.

The simple quick-release makes it easy to load and unload your bike, so you won't be stuck struggling with the rack, dropping your bike, denting your car, smashing your finger, and generally flailing with your bike. The quick-release is lock compatible (lock cores are sold separately) so your bike won't disappear when you duck into a restaurant for a post-ride snack.

The RockyMounts TieRod Bike Mount comes in Black, Silver, Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink, White, and Orange.

Easy to assemble, solid

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The rack is easy to assemble despite vague poorly printed instructions. Appears very solid and well-made fitting aero crossbars as advertised.

Great racks

These were incredibly easy to install; brilliant engineering. They are solid with no wobble, holding my bike firmly.

    I dig it!

This is an inexpensive, low profile rack that is easy to install. I've only tossed my bike on it to check it out but it is simple enough to use. I can't wait to put it to some real use this summer!

      great rack

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I uppgraded to this rack from an old yakima rack that my mom used in college (yes they were old). this rack is alot more sturdy and aerodynamic. the install was pretty straight forward and only took about 15 min from unboxing to install

Nice finish & detail, solid construction

Easy assembly, beefy lock cores for piece of mind, cool stylin colors, I have been admiring these racks on other cyclists cars for too long, I love it! Reasonably priced & sturdy mounts to my 2015 Subaru Outback OEM bars, thank you!

        Solid bike rack

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I exchanged my Yakima roof rack in favor of the Rocky Mount TieRod since the Yakima didn't have a solid fit on my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. The TieRod has such an incredible grip on the factory bars. A smart and easy system that was easier than the Yakima to set up. The included instructions could use a little updating - a video online helps with that. This also fits on our 2015 Subaru Outback factory bars as well.

        Rack city

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great bike rack. Wish it was alittle more forward on my car. With the factory bars on my imprezza. When the bike is on the roof I can't put the tire in the trunk. The rear tire on my bike hits the spoiler preventing it to come all the way up. But that's no big deal. Also wish it came with the locks.

Inexpensive option for your roof rack

Easy to install to factory rack on Subaru Forrester. Light weight. Quick release can be challenging to adjust, but provides a secure attachment for 9mm quick release style fork.
