Built from the ground up for the needs of demanding cross-country racers, the RockShox SID RLC 29 Charger DebonAir 100 Boost Fork with OneLoc Remote Lockout provides 100 millimeters of highly efficient travel that's tuned for pedaling swiftly over race courses and dissecting the smooth-buffed trails of your local network. This particular SID RLC includes RockShox's OneLoc handlebar-mounted remote, so you can lock out this fork with the simple push of a button as you sprint towards the finish line and pedal up forest roads. The remote locks out RockShox shocks as well, so you can firm up the front and rear end of your cross-country race bike for the feel of a rigid hardtail when you need an extra boost of efficiency.
For 2018, it's updated with RockShox's DebonAir spring for increased small-bump sensitivity and better traction as you muscle up technical climbs littered with rocks and roots. DebonAir increases the negative air spring volume from older SID Forks with the Solo Air spring, thereby boosting suppleness and sensitivity off the top, as well as increasing traction over bumpy trails and race course sections. Not only is it outfitted with the enhanced sensitivity of DebonAir, but it's now loaded with the new Charger 2 damper that's retrofitted from RockShox's Pike to fit inside the SID's skinnier 32-millimeter chassis. The Charger 2 damper gives you the ability to switch between Open and Firm settings with the flick of the OneLoc remote, as well as dial in low-speed compression tuning to suit your particular riding style and the terrain at hand.
The 2018 SID RLC works with RockShox's newest TwistLoc remote, in case you're running a dropper post and want to free up your handlebar real estate. TwistLoc does essentially the same thing as the OneLoc remote found here, but its actuation works like a twist shifter and frees up handlebar space for a dropper remote or 2x drivetrain set-up. Additionally, you'll find the SID RLC is now compatible with SRAM's Torque Caps for added stiffness and precise tracking of your front wheel, as well as working with SRAM's Bottomless Tokens for a progressive ramp-up at end stroke to prevent the fork from blowing through excessive travel on bigger hits and technical race courses.
