Light Weight Excellent small bump compliance Plenty Stiff
I have now had several Pike forks on a few of different bikes, both 29 and 650b and these forks do not have a match on the market. A few companies come close, but I still have not found a fork that ticks all of the boxes like the Pike. I highly recommend it, and it is my go to fork for custom bike builds. Other forks I have ridden recently: Fox 34 (2016) Fox 36 (2016) RockShox Lyrik (2016 and even more amazing than the pike on stiffness and small bump compliance, but heavier and will only be a good choice if you are riding a 160mm travel bike or bigger) MRP Stage (I would ride this if a Pike was unavailable or if I just wanted something different again)
The Pike just works, and it works well. On my current bike (2017 Bronson CC) I am running 3 bottomless tokens to provide a firmer feel through the mid and end stroke. I will note that the fork comes with two bottomless tokens, I purchased and added a third for a little more ramp up at the end of the stroke, allowing me to lower the air pressure for better small bump performance.
