Description

Maximum support for technical terrain.

The RockShox Lyrik RC2 DebonAir 160 Boost 29in Fork takes your all-mountain riding and enduro racing to entirely new realms with its unflappable stiffness and heightened levels of support. From lift-accessed downhills to timed enduro stages, the Lyrik RC2 delivers precise tracking with its stout 35-millimeter stanchions preventing torsional deflection when you're smashing across boulders and roots at high speeds. Beefed up over its Pike sibling with thicker stanchion walls, the Lyrik is RockShox's premiere fork for aggressive styles of all-mountain riding and enduro racing. This particular Lyrik RC2 is revised for 2018 with a DebonAir spring and Charger RC2 damper improving its overall suppleness and traction, as well as giving discerning riders the ability to adjust the low and high-speed compression to their exact needs.

As the go-to choice in RockShox's line for longer travel applications and aggressive riding styles, the Lyrik is the stiffest fork this side of a dual-crown Boxxer used exclusively on downhill bikes. The secret to its rock-solid feel lies in 35-millimeter stanchions with thicker walls versus what you'd find with a Pike, meaning it tracks more precisely when you're thrashing the living hell out of this fork on downhills with intimidating drops and huge rocks.

The new Charger RC2 damper gives you heightened adjustability over the RCT3 Charger 2 damper found on standard Lyriks, providing the ability to independently fine-tune the high and low-speed compression settings of the fork. You'll find 20 clicks of low-speed compression tuning, alongside 5 clicks of high-speed compression tuning. Also, there's an external rebound adjust to get everything dialed to your individual needs.

Another brand new addition, the DebonAir spring is borrowed from RockShox's Deluxe and Super Deluxe rear shocks. This technology increases the negative air spring volume of the fork, lending higher levels of suppleness off-the-top, which in turn makes it all the more sensitive to bumps and small imperfections in terrain. This DebonAir spring also increases its mid-stroke support to prevent you from blowing through excess travel.

Since it's made exclusively for the newest Boost axle standards, the Lyrik now clears tires up to 2.8 inches on 29ers or 3 inches on 27.5+ bikes, so you can clear wide trail and plus-sized tires alike. Different offsets of 51 and 42 millimeters give you the ability to tailor your long-travel 29er to the riding and turning characteristics you'd like, depending on your frame's overall length and head tube angle, among other geometry figures. It's compatible with RockShox's Torque Cap for gaining stiffness and precise tracking (Torque Cap is sold separately), plus it works with a OneLoc remote (not included) for handlebar-activated control at your fingers, which is helpful during racing scenarios.

  • RockShox's stiffest enduro and all-mountain fork
  • 35mm stanchions with thicker walls for stiff, precise tracking
  • Charger RC2 damper with low and high-speed compression tuning
  • DebonAir spring enhances bump sensitivity, mid-stroke support
  • Available with 51 or 42 mm offset for different 29er geometries
  • Boost spacing clears 29 x 2.8 or 27.5 x 3.0 in tires
  • Torque Cap compatible for stiffness (not included)
  • OneLoc handlebar remote compatible (not included)

Gold schmold...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Put this on my new Yeti SB150 and swapped in a 170 air spring - with the 42 offset this is a dream fork for my ride. I do love the sensitivity of these forks. I am still working on dialing in the high-speed compression after my first fist full of rides but such an easy fork to ride and set up.
We have a lot of customers drawn to the golden forks that ride amazingly well - as well, but Kashima is not the end all be all if you don't maintain or fully dial in your suspension. Rockshox has done a lot of work to reduce friction (especially with the new 2020 forks) and increase sensitivity as well as add additional features for the home mechanic - such as the cassette lockring tool removal of the top caps to remove both the air spring and damper top caps. When maintaining your fork be sure to look for some high-end fork fluid like Motorex and SKS dust seals to get the fork even smoother!
Worth noting - my came with 2 volume spacers installed. with my weight, riding style and bike 2-3 are about perfect.

Best RockShox fork yet!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been a long time RockShox user and have used pretty much every one of their products. This is by far the best fork they have built. The Charger 2 gives great top end sensitivity, yet ramps up on bigger hits with ease. My hands feel no fatigue after long descents, which is the biggest win.
