For a mud-free money-maker.

Hero dirt has its perks: perfect tracking, tacky control, and playful responsiveness, to name a few, but a little too much moisture, and you'll find a bit of muddy wheelspray kicking up at you, landing specs right into your pearly whites as you're grinning down the trail. While far from the end of the world, we can attest to the unpleasantness of grainy sand and dirt in our teeth, and with the Riesel Design schlammPE Front Mud Guard you don't have to have a muddy mug on the trail anymore. This  mud guard has you covered from wheelspray covering your money-maker with an easy-to mount design and a shield of  extra-thick polypropylene that not only catches the mud for you, but is recyclable if at the end of the season it's seen too much abuse to carry on. With that said, Riesel Design builds this mud guard to last, even taking the attention to back the graphics with an extra coating to keep you feeling as flashy or stealth as you want year in and out, and backs it with a 3 year warranty to ensure you're covered if something fails. This mud guard comes along with four cable ties for securing to your fork, and is compatible with a huge range of tire sizes to accommodate just about any mountain bike.

  • A guard for keeping your mug mud free
  • Extra-thick polypropylene construction
  • Weighs in at only 33-lbs despite burly materials
  • Easy to mount to forks with 4 cable ties
  • Durable construction and graphics stay bright
  • Covered by 3-year warranty for peace of mind
  • Ideal for keeping your teeth grit free when you're grinning down the trail

Minimize The Mud

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Clean looking mud guard that keeps your frame clean! Easy to install and withstands the abuse of the trails.

No wake zone

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Riding in the rain, snow, and mud is fun but keeping the elements out of your face can be difficult. This fender is easy to install, looks cool, and does the job.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a mountain bike fender!

Pretty good, not too bulky.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Most of the Marsh guards I see are HUGE. This thing is a nice change of pace. Perfect size for an enduro bike, and not too annoying. Too many holes though.

Don't Poke Too Many Holes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The RIESEL DESIGN schlammPE Front Mud Guard has been a solid front fender with decent coverage and good design. The install was pretty easy from a zip tie standpoint but I poked more holes in the perforated parts of the guard before reading the directions like a goof. Read the directions or watch Riesel's YouTube video first as I get along trying to ensure everyone that I wanted some airflow. For reference: I run this on a 130mm travel RockShox Pike with an e*thirteen Race Carbon Rim and a Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 tyre and there is a good enough room between.

Happy with it

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this in blue, but the color does looks a bit different from the picture. It is bit more darker blue than the light blue it appears to be in the picture. I'm happy with it cause it actually matches my bike color.

Love the Grizz Design!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very easy to install and does what you need it for. It looks nice and fits with my 29x2.5 tire.

Finally a Fender with some Style

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great Fender!, has a multitude of pre marked areas to punch out to install using cable ties (not included). the cable ties hold the fender tight where it is supposed to be and not only does it keep the debris down and out of my eyes it looks good doing it!

I picked up the orange version and it matches my Ibis HD4 perfectly!

i would recommend this to anyone looking for a fender.

Installed on: Fox 36 160 27..5

Finally a Fender with some Style

Great Fender

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I attached this to my front fork with 4 zip ties and so far its working pretty nicely!

Plus, it's always good to use protection (for the fork). And you've really got no reason not to at such a low price.

awesome fender!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This fender is easy to install with a few zip ties and looks good also. I have yet to use it on a wet day but it has stopped countless rocks

Standard Fender

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Cuts down on debris flinging up. I got the orange and it's nice and bright. It does not come with zip-ties and there is no packaging. I had to trim a piece off that would be used to hang it on a hook in the store. I can appreciate the minimal impact type of design but am not a huge fan of all the instructions, details, and wording just printed on the underside.

Stanchions are expensive, protect them!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The added bonus of less mud in your face pales in comparison to the importance of keeping your stanchions and seals free of mud and dust buildup. Doing so can greatly improve the lifespan and performance of your very expensive fork.

keeps gunk from yer face.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought a couple of these--one for the mountain bike and one for the fattie. With another mild winter, able to do some low elevation trail riding and a bunch of night riding and snowbiking. One in a while, I found some low spots with a little mud, moisture or wet snow and this does the ticket to keep it out of your face. Note--your bike and the rest of yourself won't be spared but it does a decent job of stopping the tire from throwing sand or muck in your face. Be nice if they included some zip ties for install.

Wrong color!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The blue looks more like a teal or a celeste in the photos, where it's a very regular blue. Blue as blue can be. Not Angry Dolphin, not sea foam, Not Celeste. Just blue.

Looks good.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It looks good and holds a good shape. Only reason it didn't get five stars is because it didn't come with zip ties.

Expected more

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

To be honest, it's just a $15 piece of plastic. No shaping or anything. It also doesn't even come with zip ties, which are needed to install this. I would give it 1 star, but it is made in Germany and has a 3 year warranty, so it makes you feel high-ish class.

I had to laugh at this, since it's a $15 piece of plastic....for $14.99!

Simple piece of material, and easy install. These don’t block all the muck and debris, but it sure cuts down on it. They do not come with their own zip ties, so have some quality ones handy. The instructions are printed on the underneath of the guard, so you are unable to flip them upside down to hide the paint scheme. But the black/black isn’t too loud of a design, and looks subtle when installed.
