Description

The rowdiness ahead.

Ever-changing trail conditions require a lot of attention directed to the dirt, rocks, roots, and berms, leaving precious little for managing cockpit concerns lest you risk veering into a foolish line while fiddling with a bar-mounted doodad. Those are also the times when the Turbine Dropper Seatpost is most useful. Race Face now sells it without a remote, so you can choose whichever switch you're most comfortable with and eliminate one more cockpit distraction. Less time fumbling at an unfamiliar widget means more time paying attention to whatever rowdiness lies ahead.

Taking inspiration from hydraulic droppers with the Turbine's mechanical design, Race Face equipped it with a solid two-bolt clamp and stealth internal routing to keep the lines of your frame looking clean. If you can't resist riding in cold early season temps, the Turbine won't be slowed down by a surprise snow shower or a chilly alpine breeze. The Turbine's solid aluminum construction equips it to handle plenty of on-trail shenanigans, so you can play with abandon on your local singletrack circuit without having to babysit delicate carbon widgets.

  • A mechanical dropper post for all-mountain riding
  • Solid, lightweight construction can handle technical lines
  • Won't be slowed down by cold weather or precipitation
  • Stealth routing keeps frame clean and uncluttered
  • Remote not included

Nice Dropper for the price

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this dropper after reading some professional reviews of the product and it turns out the reviews were spot on. The dropper itself works very well. It functions smoothly and seamlessly and have had no issues with it so far after 3 rides(about 50 miles) and with some steep descents. I believe it to be a high quality product.

However, the installation and setup turned out to be difficult as per the reviews . Having this knowledge prior to purchase I decided to pay to have it installed at a local bike shop. The installer even commented on the complexity and sensitivity regarding setup. There seems to be two issues with the setup. Issue one is that there needs to be just the right amount of slackness in the cable in order for the dropper to function properly. Issue two is that the seat post clamp cannot be clamped down too tightly. This will also cause the dropper to not function properly. The post will not return to the fullest extension. That being said once everything was dialed in the dropper has performed flawlessly.

Given the great price that Backcountry has on this dropper it is a great deal as long as you are willing to deal with the setup issues.

Raceface Turbine Dropper

Was looking for a dropper with smaller footprint. This is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to DIY install. I suggest to get the 1x remote to go along with this dropper seatpost.

Raceface Turbine Dropper

Hi Julius, did the seatpost and/or the remote come with the internal cable?
