Rise to the 35mm occasion.

The 35mm-clamp standard is clearly here to stay, if industry-setters like Race Face aren't just making exploratory mid-level bars and stems for it, but also high-end full carbon bits like the Race Face SIXC 35 20mm Rise Handlebar. If that British Columbia-based company of rule-breakers and boundary-pushers is getting behind it, it must be the real deal.

To craft its 35mm carbon fiber bars, Race Face starts with unidirectional carbon fiber, which enables the engineers to meet their own high standards for durability without creating a heavy bar. The larger diameter of the bar and stem clamp area create a much stiffer interface and allow for an even wider bar. Because the bar becomes far stronger, engineers can go back and remove excess material without encroaching on its strength or resistance to deformation (bending and twisting). It all equates to a lighter, stiffer, stronger handlebar, which means a better handlebar, which means a better bike. In fact, Race Face's 35mm SIXC handlebar is both wider and lighter than its 31.8mm version. The 20mm rise of this model strikes an ideal balance between the XC-readiness of the 10mm rise version and the DH-bombability of the 35mm rise version.

The Race Face SIXC 35 20mm Rise Handlebar is 800mm wide and comes in three graphics colors: Red, Green, and Blue. It has a backsweep of 8 degrees and an upsweep of 5 degrees. It is compatible only with 35mm-clamp stems.

Large (As in Wide) and in Charge

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have these on my Ibis Mojo 3 with a Raceface Atlas 35mm stem at 35mm length.

The bars are uncut at 800mm. They're pretty wide feeling. I jumped up from previously having 760mm bars and honestly feel they are almost too wide sometimes. They're fine most of the time, but they do get a touch scary at high speed in anything tight. That said, I absolutely love it for bike park or desert riding!

These are stiff & eat up vibrations and feel like I have great control of the bike. If you have any questions on these bars or what stem to pair these with, give a shout at my direct line 801.204.4547 or

Carbon & Orange

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I really like Race Face products. I have been using them for a long time and have been happy with the carbon performance and width. I put these on my DH bike and had the extra bonus of getting them in orange.

Wide Load Ripping Through

A true necessity in today's biking world.

I know what you're thinking.... 800 mm might seem just a touch too wide on paper, but in person these bars feel better than ever! Even in tight technical sections on the trails here in Park City, I still find myself screaming through narrow sections fully pinned (just make sure you keep your eyes on the trails, not those aspens!).

35mm width is the new standard for a reason. These bars feel so right on my Santa Cruz Hightower and give me so much more confidence ripping down the trail and cranking up those brutal uphill climbs.

I went with the gray bars and paired it with the Race Face Atlas Stem (35 mm width & 50 mm length) - which is the most comfortable stem and bar combo I have ever run.

One of the most inexpensive upgrades that will drastically increase your riding performance. The decision is yours. Do you want to be a better rider? Or still keep living in your parent's basement riding your Harro?

Stiff and confidence inspiring. The rise and sweep feels good and puts the cockpit in a comfortable position.

Matchy, Matchy

When building my new Pivot Mach 6 I wanted to pair the bars to the Stealth Black/Green color of the frame. These Race Face SIXC 35 20mm Rise Bars in Green were a perfect match. Fortuitous for me since I have used these carbon bars for years. The extra 35 mm diameter makes for solid, stable descending in a light weight package. I decided to keep the 800 mm width but might trim down to a 780 mm down the road.

Big thanks to Joe Bolton in our Retail Store Bike Shop for getting my new Mach 6 put together. If you are ever in Salt Lake City definitely stop by our Retail Store to check out their bike selection and visit Joe (2607 S 3200 W, Suite A, West Valley UT 84119). The 35mm Clamp bars increase your front end stiffness quite a bit! I'll be dropping a few PSI in the fork to make the front end a bit more forgiving because these bars are so stiff! 800mm width is super stable, and lots of color options to match your ride.

    Broken Bar

These bars cracked under the clamp on my brakes, I used a torque wrench set to 4nm. I talked to RaceFace and they said not to torque more then 2-3nm. There was no indication of this value on the bars or in the paper work. They offered me a replacement for cost (not a great deal). I wouldn't recommend this bar because the company doesn't support the product.
