Plant your feet and go.

Having a place to put your feet is a pretty non-negotiable part of cycling, but, you don't want to spend your post-ride refreshment budget (and part of next month's rent) on flashy pedals, either. Race Face's Chester Pedals don't have the shiny aluminum construction of some of their pricier counterparts, but they also won't empty your wallet, and Race Face carefully constructs their nylon composite body to make it just as grippy and responsive as aluminum versions.

Using eight replaceable steel hex traction pins on each side of the pedals, Race Face gives the rubber soles of your shoes a place to hang on when you're blasting through destructive territory. It also fully seals the bearing and bushing system while a durable Cro-Mo steel axle keeps the pedal working smoothly for as long as possible. If it eventually does need some work, Race Face makes the system completely serviceable too, so you won't be forced to replace a perfectly good pedal because of a bushing or bearing problem.

Great value

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Nice big platform and shoes stick to them well. Great pair of pedals that do the job and aren't too expensive.

all the colors

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use these on my townie, great to color match with as these come in a wide range of colors. nice and grippy.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these pedals for my city bike and I love them. Super tough and grippy. If you're looking for some decent inexpensive pedals look no further.

Surprisingly good flat pedal

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've ridden many different flats over the years and landed primarily on the race face atlas as my go to pedals. I needed another set so and didn't feel like spending a ton on peddles so I figured I try these out. WOW! these things really are great. they grip juts as good as the atlas, they seems to be strong, when yo ding them its barely noticeable as opposed to metal peddles. i'm not sure what the longevity will be like but so far so good. either way they are serviceable which is great.. I could honestly say unless your doing to most extreme stuff out there try this before spending bigger bucks. you won't go wrong.

Strong, Light, Cheap, you pick all 3!!!

After several decades clipped in, I decided to try flats. Didn't want to spend a lot of cash. Got a set of these and......they're AWESOME.

Grip is great-if you don't have enough you're probably not on 5.10 rubber (seriously- many other flat shoes are as good, except for the rubber). There's just enough concavity for secure grip but it's possible to unweight a foot and move it without too much effort. The bearings spin smoothly and are easy to service. Rear entry pins are easy to pull and swap once they've ground down and/or sheared off.

On rocky trails, the resin bodies slide rather than hanging up if you have a pedal strike and scratches are less visible because the entire bodies are molded in a given color. Lots of colors mean you can be all matchy-matchy if that's your jam.

What else-these weigh 1/4 pound less than most alloy pedals or spds, so your bike will probably be a touch lighter when you thread them into your crankarms. I've jumped off many things riding Chesters, but no bike park time-maybe an alloy body would be better for a full-time dh rig if you're sending the big drops (bigger than 4-6 feet). Otherwise, I see no reason to get any other flat pedal.

    Stoked on them

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I threw these on my road bike and I am very happy with them. cheap, light, grippy, and good looking pedals

    solid pedal for the money

great pedal for the cost, composite body does well, put these on my XC bike and they are awesome. Grip is good, colors are great, price is great you cant go wrong when looking for a good value pedal

      Performance at a great price

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Super grippy pedal, as good a price as you will find, huge range of colors to match your bike. You really cannot go wrong with these if you are looking to save some money on your pedals.

      So Grip, Much Wow

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these as an inexpensive eupgrade over the stock pedals on a new bike. After a few rides, the first impression is along the lines of "damn these are grippy". Plus the platform is wide enough for men's size 14 feet to use comfortably.

      Grippy AF

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These pedals are sweet -- they stick to your shoes like glue and reduce the chance of your feet slipping off by quite a bit. Putting them on is a breeze, and they come in a ton of awesome colors so you can make your bike a little more unique.

So Grip, Much Wow, Very Amaze

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This pedal can take a beating! I was surprised to slap this pedal on, and have it hit every rock known to man due to my frame being more of a low swung geo, while coming back for more! It's the perfect addition for the rider looking to get a cost effective pedal, that has longevity!

      Love the Chester

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These pedals are sweet. Super grip... feels like my foot is locked to the pedal when I need it to be, but can still make little adjustments on the fly without too much fuss. I got the black pedals and it has an almost matte finish. They look great and they are pretty light too!

High Quality Pedal with Great Grip

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Dont break the bank if you dont have to . These are a great choice for a mountain bike or commuter bike if youre looking for a solid pedal that doesnt bankrupt you.

      Great grip!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The grip on these pedals is great! They were easy to put on. Love that I could get purple ones. Just watch your shins. They can kinda hurt if you whack your shins with them.

Colored beauties for a good price

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like my bikes to have some fashion and these pedals do the trick. The color options are great. But arguably more important is that they have great grip. They are almost as great as my Atlas pedals but a fraction of the price

      Great upgrade

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought these to replace the ones that came on my MTB for added grip. Love the traction and feel. Well made and easy to install.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was looking for some flat pedals to put on my commuter bike and wanted something that felt great and would stand out. I love the way these pedals feel, and the style made my bike complete!

      Great Gift!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Sent these to a good friend of mine who just got a used bike and had a broken pedal, this is what she had to say:

These pedals rock! I was having trouble with cramps in my feet along with slipping on my past pedals. I was looking for something a little more stable. These have been awesome, with the flat shape I feel as though the weight is distributed on my feet evenly, huge for me as I am mostly downhill mountain biking and standing throughout most of my rides. The spikes on the top hold my shoes in and I have yet to slip. The red is a bright red that matches exactly as I was hoping.

      Solid Pedals

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are a great option for some great performing pedals that do not break the bank. I have loved the grip and the color options are awesome too!
