Ready to show you what 35mm is all about.

The 35mm bar clamp diameter is here. Just as 31.6mm overtook the 25.4mm standard not too many years ago, the engineers got all engineer-y again and brought out something better. It means stronger, lighter bars. It means better bars. The Race Face Atlas 35 20mm riser bar isn't just a fat-clamp alloy bar made by the Canadian company that laughs at gravity; it's a harbinger of the next wave in cockpit evolution.

So how does a bigger bar clamp diameter make a bar both stiffer and lighter? The increased diameter of the bar at the clamp makes it inherently stronger and more resistant to deformation (twisting and bending). The strength gained by increasing the bar's diameter is disproportionately generous to the small amount of additional material used to do so, however, so now the engineers can go back and shave bar material to save more weight without compromising durability — which, in the case of the geniuses at Race Face, is vastly more durability than most riders will ever need. The result is a super wide bar that manages outrageous strength, yet weighs hardly more, if more at all, than a comparable 31.6mm bar. The 20mm-rise version of the Atlas 35 strikes a balance between the XC-leaning 10mm-rise version and the gravity-duty 35mm-rise version.

The Race Face Atlas 35 20mm riser bar comes in Black, Stealth, Raw, Blue, Gold, Orange, Red, and Green. It's 800mm wide and comes with a 35mm bar clamp area, so it's only compatible with 35mm-clamp bicycle stems. The bar features an 8-degree backsweep, and a 5-degree upsweep.

Bling bling

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought the gold bars and couldn't be more stoked on how they look and ride. Nice and wide with just the perfect amount of rise for my liking. The Gold really sticks out on sunny days, Race Face did a great job on durability and the paint jobs on these bars. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good bars that won't break the bank!

Add a bit of flare to your ride.

Great handlebars, wide for stability and control, light enough for overall performance and great color to add some flare to your ride.

Coming from a DH background i like my bars wide and these baby's did the trick. Not only that but the color options are a good way to trick you bike out a bit for the park. I perfer this rise not to aggressive but enough. Really excited to get some miles under these!

Real Wide, Real Stiff

Can't wait to hit the chairlift with these bars. They are super wide, and super stiff. I paired it with a 50mm Easton Havoc stem, for a stiff downhill feel. Wide bars just feel so much more stable in the sketchy stuff, you can pull the wheel back to safety with confidence.

Wide Load.

This is my first pair of wide bars and I absolutely love them! At first it was a different feeling while riding, but now that I am comfortable with them I have all the control and stability that I could want. Race Face always has great graphics and the finish on the bars is great. Easy to install, great looking bars and I dig the 35mm cockpit. If you are in an area with a lot of tight trees, these might need to be cut down a little bit, but they have a great feel and I don't ever plan on going back to narrow bars.

Wide Ride

I've been a proponent of wider bars since the first time I tried is about 5 years ago. Since then, I've been going wider and wider. And I think I've finally found the bar I've been looking for.

I changed out the stock bars on my new bike in exchange for this one and I love it. Wide = stable (in my mind at least) and I've felt stable all season on these bars. The only problem I have is that some trails still adhere to the old standards and I have to squeeze my bars between trees every now and then. A small price to pay for comfort and stability. Put these on your next bike and try them out. This width isn't for everyone but you can always get them cut down but I would challenge you to try them full width to begin. You might never go back!
