Description

Aeffect Pedals

Most people aren't into switching pedals every time they go for a ride anyway, but the RaceFace Aeffect Pedals make such chopping and changing a thing of the past. With a thin but rugged aluminum body, bombproof chromoly steel axle, and 20 hex-headed traction pins per pedal, they can pull duty on XC, trail, enduro, and DH bikes without breaking, weighing you down, or letting you slip. A shorter spindle helps keep the Aeffects' weight low, while hidden grease ports let you perform maintenance without having to break out the pedal wrench.

  • A versatile pedal for any trail riding
  • Aluminum body is durable and stiff for better efficiency
  • 10 pins provide traction between shoe and platform

Confidence Booster!!

I have had no issues since switching from Clip-less. I've been wanting to get more aggressive with my riding and jumping. These flats allow me the confidence I was looking for to help in trouble situations if I need to bail or put a foot down on a tight turn. Plus with jumping, I know I can react if needed without the hassle of unclipping– less chance of injury. It has taken me a while to get comfortable again with flats. I find myself searching a bit for just the right sweet spot, but muscle memory is key and quickly learned! I would recommend these pedals as they have a great amount of surface for your foot and paired with a great shoe keep, your feet sticking to the pedals.

Absolutely no slipping off these - you have to lift your foot completely off if you want to move it to a different position on the pedal. Great design and quality, look awesome, perfect size, very flat. Not super light but not too heavy. I’ve had some pedal strikes on big rocks due to the low BB on my 5010, but the pedals held up great, minor paint damage. The other reviews are correct - watch your shins, these things will gouge your legs if you are not careful when mounting or dismounting. Took me a few rides and some blood to remember. See photo, my right leg is not as bad. No pain no gain :)

Glued shoes

Great pedals, feet are practically glued to them, I'd highly recommend them for any rider.

Glued On

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These flats keep you glued on while you're riding! I've messed around with the stamp pedals but I find my self coming back to these because of the superior grip they offer. These pins are shin bangers but are the reason that the grip is so great.

Solid Pedal

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I usually ride clipless but got these for a skills course with Ryan Leech. The grip and feel was solid. It felt sturdy and as long as my feet had contact with the pedal they weren't budging. I could not find a R/L stamped anywhere so switching back and forth with my clipless may be trial and error. I am quite pleased with my purchase and would recommend them.

The left pedal has a groove around the unthreaded bit of the axle close to where it screws into the crank. The right pedal doesn’t have a groove. Most pedals have something similar FYI.

Great Pedals

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These pedals are awesome with my FiveTen shoes. The grip is incredible, and has definitely helped increase my confidence. Couldn't agree more with the below review, these things are no joke and with slice your legs up good. All well worth it though! That must mean it's durable as well.

Equal parts awesome pedal and weapon.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These pedals are awesome! great platform pedal, the pins stick great to my bike shoes and i feel as though i've got plenty of control without being clipped in. KEEP IN MIND. these things are no joke and will cause wounds. good news is they are war wounds and are the spoils of riding an awesome trail.

Perfect platform

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These pedals are low-profile to help prevent pedal strikes. They are fairly lightweight for the price and I find the grip to be really strong on my 5-10s. Everyone is switching over from clipless these days it seems and these are a great option.

Good Pedal, Good Price

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These seem like perfectly good pedals. For the price, I think theyre just right, though I was hoping for something a little lower profile. I havent put a ton of miles on them, but I have certainly smashed a few rocks and they have held up just fine. Time will tell whether these are good pedals or great pedals.

Great Flats

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Sometimes I feel like I blinked and the price of platform pedals quadrupled for no reason... What used to just be a cheap option for those not serious enough to ride clipless has now become its own market of super fancy, marked up products. But like all bike stuff... with account-gouging markups comes super rad new toys. I chose these pedals because they were relatively reasonably priced, but seemed to keep up with the other high end flats as far as weight, design, materials, etc. They are pretty awesome. Great shape that actually makes sense to maximize coverage on your foot, and loads of grip. Can't comment on longevity yet, but they seem well built.

The Race Face Aeffect Pedals are my favorite flat pedals out there. They do the trick, haven't blown up on me and work really well with my Five Ten Freerider shoes.

Super grippy. Just don't let them touch your skin. Great pedal. I stayed locked in even when it got rough. I had few pedal strikes without anything more than a scratch in the finish. Comes with a few extra pins.

If you are looking for a great wide platform pedal that has removable pins and built tough these are the guys you need. Get steel axle with an aluminum platform. Kinda heavy.

You are welcome Dad

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I honestly think my dad loves these more then he loves his kids.. well maybe. The best part of these is the amount of grip you are going to get against your shoes. No slipping over here. These are a pretty "tight" look as well. The color is a perfect matte black. If you're dad love to get a little crazy on his bike they will be a hit!

My buddy loves em

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got these for a friend who just started biking and he loves the color option and durability. He has had alot of pedal strikes and not only do his feet stay on the pedals but the pedal can handle some abuse. A great go-to platform pedal with replaceable spikes as they get worn out.
