ShockWiz
Historically, the perfect suspension tune has been a vaguely mythical ideal attainable only by a select few intuitively gifted individuals, while the rest of us read conflicting online articles to guide tweaks and cling to the hope that our forks and shocks are at least somewhere in the vicinity of a workable tune. Given that climate, Quarq's ShockWiz is positioned to drastically improve ride quality and bring suspension tune dynamics into clearer focus for a large portion of the cycling population.
Arriving as a rather unassuming little square, ShockWiz houses an internal pressure sensor and microprocessor that pair to run diagnostics on your suspension while you ride. The system attaches to your air-sprung shock or fork's Schrader valve with a sleek hose that allows ShockWiz to collect 100 pressure readings per second for instant, continuous analysis to determine how well your suspension setup in working for you.
The ShockWiz takes in the whole picture of pressure changes and looks for negative characteristics such as pogo, pack-down, and bob, and stores away data on their severity. After the ride, just open up your smartphone and click on the ShockWiz app to get feedback and specific adjustment suggestions to improve your shock tune for a better ride next time you hit the trail.
- A smart way to analyze and adjust air-sprung shock and fork tune
- Hose connects quickly to shock or fork Schrader valves

Didn't fit my bike set up....
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I have a stumpjumper st with a cane creek DB IL air rear shock on it, and there was no way to mount it to the shock. the frame extension is on the right, the valve to inflate the shock is on the left and if you try to put it on the top it hits the frame, and you can't put it on the bottom because the angle of the hose and the fittings doesn't allow it attach. Major bummer.

Dial in your suspension
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I recently got my first bike with suspension that offers high and low speed compression and rebound adjustments and I was overwhelmed with all the settings and changes I could make. Enter ShockWiz. This little thing helped me to make sense of all of those adjustments and get my suspension running great. It allows you to pick the type suspension you want for your riding whether that be Efficient (pedaling), Balanced, Playful or Aggressive. Then it offers tips on how much pressure to run and what to do to dial it in. In my opinion this was a must have for getting the most out of my Factory 36 with grip 2 early on. I would highly recommend getting one to help you understand your suspension and what changes should be made.

Helpful for tuning and setup, plus fun
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This has really helped with tuning my fork and shock for different terrains quickly. The app has improved and provides a quick and easy interface and great stastics to geek out on like number of jumps, average time in the air, and longest jump. Setting up a shock or fork does require carefully measuring the compression ratios. If you don't get that right, you'll end up with bad data. Keeping a log of that does help and comparing it to known valves is a good check if you are having issues. This isn't a must have device if you are good with suspension setup, but it is a great device to help dial in something quickly or in a different terrain. I was going to take it off after setting it up, but I've keep it on the fork as the stats are fun.

So the price has just been reduced by Quarq/SRAM, will you be reducing to the new norm?

Tune it Right!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
You never quite realize how good suspension could feel until you have it tuned correctly. Rebound can be complicated and setting the right sag can be tricky. I always thought I could get a shock close to 90% dialed, but I thought I would give ShockWiz a try. There is really only one shock wizard and this is it. Initially it was super easy to setup. The app is easy to find and use. The calibration process took a bit of time, but once it's done you are set. You want to make sure to get some climbing and descending in on all sorts of terrain to make sure it gets a good reading. So I recommend picking a relatively short loop with a little climb, a fast flowy descent and a chunky rock or rooted area. This should pretty much do it for you. After the first test, I had the shock pretty close to dialed to begin with, but it had me slow the rebound down and add a bit of pressure to the shock and remove some pressure from the fork. The ride was surprisingly drastically different. I was really happy with the end result and the feel of the bike on the trail. I did a total of 4 test loops, 1 to dial in the rear shock, 1 to test the rear shock after making adjustments, then 1 to dial in the fork, and lastly 1 to check the fork after making adjustments. Overall I was pretty impressed by this little gadget. I highly recommend it to you if you think you a Shock Wizard and if you just don't know where to start when you are dialing in suspension. You just spent a bunch of me on that sweet new full suspension, so spend a little extra to tune it how it is suppose to be ridden!

Amazing piece of technology
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is thing relatively easy to install and use. It will help you tune your suspension according to the preset modes on the app. Gives you the piece of mind knowing you suspension is responding correctly. Only downside is that it will tell you to make adjustments to your fork or shock that might not be available i.e. high speed compression/low speed compression So just keep in mind that you might not be able to get a "perfect tune" with your suspension since you can't adjust all parameters

Decent for basics, needs a better app
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
First off I am a techie, so take this review from that perspective. Mounting - simple enough Calibration - not complicated, just a bit tedious if you have one device and multiple bikes Data collection - Seems fine App - App lost connectivity multiple times, feels like it needs an expert mode as it gets a bit too dumbed down for anyone with experience in tuning Gotchas - most suspension parts are not that adjustable, double check the number of settings you can change on your fork and shock before investing. Tunes are specific to trails that your riding, take your bike someone drastically different and the suspension might not be as tuned as it was. Adjustments must be made one at a time (save the air pressure and tokens), thus you will be making lots of data collection laps to get the final result. Big advice- check with local bikes hops as they may have a rental program or tuning service that you can work with. If you have multiple bikes and tune-able suspension, it makes a nice addition to the tool set.

What about rebound adjustment, compression act. Does it just tell you how much air to put in?
