Familiarity: I've used it several times

Thank you, Castelli, for giving us this elegant, classically cut jersey that is flattering even on those of us who are a little broader than we might wish (must I give up ice cream?) The green-yellow-warm gray is an imaginative color scheme, both refreshing and harmonious. This jersey accomplishes the goal of being lightweight and summery while having enough chops to hold quite a few items in the pockets without sagging down in a buttward direction. You can wear a regular-style bra under this without the straps showing (hurrah). I SO love the Protagonista (don't you LOVE these Italian names?!), I have the red-black-white one & the raspberry-blue-white one, too (I wore it on the 4th of July)! Like all Castelli items, it is snug, but I am able to jimmy myself into a Large (guess XL would probably be better . . . )

I chose these because on Terry's website, @90 women raved about these! I read reviews for everything I buy, and accord them respect. These knickers are soft and comfortable with just a moderate feeling of compression. They have the middle-of-the-line Fleet chamois (not the primo from Terry), which might lead one to think they would be just so-so. NOT so-so!! I've ridden these on 2-hour rides and find them wonderful. I hardly ever need to shift around to reduce pressure, unlike with my several pairs of premium Castellis and a Giordana I have. This Terry's chamois is deceptively understated, and (perhaps) therein lies its genius: it cushions better than the aforementioned other brands I have, never feeling remotely chunky or diaper-like the way so many tights do. I recommend sizing down from Terry's size charts unless you like really un-grippy tights - in Castelli I am (fer sure) a TIGHT XL but in Terry I am a comfortable Large, across several models, although by measurements (ouch) I should wear XL. A WINNER OF A KNICKER!

Bought for its high-lumen output and the laser lines it projects onto the ground beside you, delineating a "lane" for drivers to see and respect (concept!) Well - the basic light is GREAT - bright and prominent and sturdy, but the laser lines are thin little things, not robust bands as some photos suggest, and are invisible - INVISIBLE - in daylight, appearing only at dusk. Worst is, battery life is poor - after a 2-hour ride, the light needs recharging, and for a $60 light, shame, shame! This is my second Lezyne, which also gets a D for battery; but of course, these are NOT blinky-boos you see some bikers contenting themselves with. Still - Lezyne needs to work on this - please!

I'm writing this after returning my first pair, which developed a broken seam line after about 10 rides and got a little worse each time I rode. None of my other numerous Castelli items ever had such a problem so I assume it to be an anomaly - hope so! These tights, though, were warm and compressive and soft on the inside, nice to pull on when facing "cold" conditions: most rides I took were in 40-45-degree weather, but a couple were 30-ish. I was a little chilly in the latter rides, but I am colder than average. Kiss chamois is good, although a little wide-feeling and awkward when off the bike. These were the first bibs I've used, took getting used to, am still not a big fan, but am keeping an open mind since so many people love them. Great quality feeling in the zippers at the ankles and the several textiles used in the garment. I recommend these, the more so after I compared them on Castelli's website with the Sorpassos, and overall they rated just as good.
