Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I haven't owned many roof top bike racks so I cannot offer comparison, but I can say that this one is fantastic. It is exceptionally solid with everything from my super light road bikes, to 29er mountain bikes, and even heavy beach cruisers.

It is easy to install, easy to get bikes on and off, and it doesn't look as sloppy as some of the other options out there. It is, however; rather expensive, so all this greatness will cost. Highly recommend picking one up if you come across it on sale.

I really like this stand; it is well build, light, folds up easily and small, and allows me to work at a good height. My only complaint is that the jaws barely open enough to get the narrowest portion of my top tube in them. It is squeeze, and squeezing fancy-shcmancy carbon makes me nervous.

It makes a great home use and travel stand, but it is very light, so if you are looking for a heavy, more commercial stand that you can jump up and down on, you might want to look elsewhere.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this stand, just be aware that some of those wider carbon frames may not fit in the clamps.

It's a bottle cage. It holds bottles very tightly. I've been using these for road riding, so no big impacts, but those bottles aren't going anywhere. On the other hand, it is difficult to get bottles in while riding, which is when I need to get the bottles back in the cage. I am hoping they loosen up just a bit over time, or I will find another cage.

Short version - they hold bottles well, but it is difficult to get bottles in.
