Familiarity: I've used it several times
I bought this frame to put the spare parts laying around my apartment to use, and now it is my go to bike for most of my rides! I live in San Francisco, and I have now ridden the DV9 at most of the Bay Area trails, Demo, UCSC, Wilder Ranch State Park in Santa Cruz, Tamarancho in Marin, Skeggs in Woodside, and Annadale in Santa Rosa. And this bike really likes to go downhill and well as up. Even on most black diamond trails, I keep up with my friends on their full suspension bikes. The bike does have it limits on super chunky stuff and bigger drops, but it makes up for it with super fast acceleration out of corners and pumping over whoops. I have even hit some sets of double jumps that I don't on my full suspension because this bike pumps so well, due to the light weight and comfortable riding position. Add that up with a fairly slack head angle that tames the steep trails, the DV9 is a really fun bike with at a great price.
