Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I received this from backcountry.com, but I wanted to leave a review for the buyers looking for an all around sport watch - I should have done this sooner!! There are so many to choose from these days, but this covers a lot of bases - stylish, functional, EASY to use, and unmatched mapping functions compared to other brands. You can use the app to easily map out routes based on trails or roads in your area, send them to your watch, and go from there. Your watch will tell you where you are on the course. The exercise and steps functions are just as good as other watches, and the HRM seems to be accurate. The ease of use and mapping function are what set this watch apart! I have used this hiking, cycling, and fishing. All activities have been recorded accurately and allow me to compare to others or my previous times. My only gripe is that the app asks me to link my social media accounts, and I wish the developers would give an option to turn that off for people who don’t use social media or who are more private.

I got these shorts for long hauls, but was shocked to see the bad seam placement for such a spendy short. There are two seams, not even flat seams, one through the inner thighs, and one from front to back, the center point being right in your sensitive sit area. I don't think I could make it 20 miles in these shorts before the crotch seams would cause problems. My Pearl Izumi's for half the price have better seams.

I originally got this helmet in a size small, but compared to all of my other Giro helmets (road, mtn bike, and ski), this size small was too small, so I got a size medium. It seems to fit like my other smalls, and the padding inside is a nice upgrade compared to the Giro E2 I used to rock. Its light, airy, and looks good. It also protected me from a serious spill and held up well!

I have these tires in all sorts of sizes I like them so much. 2.4, 2.25, and 2.1s. They are light on the climbs, fast on smooth stuff, and very grippy in dusty and dry conditions. I have them on my XC bike, and once I realized how nice they were, I tossed the Michelin junk on my freeride bike and put these Advantages on. They corner like champs going downhill at high speeds. I highly recommend these tires.
