Will's Bio

Used to race XC competitively until about 8 years ago. Now, after gaining 45 pounds and having less time to ride, I focus more on descending and focus on having fun and blasting *down* my favorite trails.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

DHR2s came front and rear on my enduro bike. I loved the grip, but couldn't tell if it was the tires, the bike in general, or waning fitness that was making the climbs drudgery. I swapped the rear DHR2 EXO for this Aggressor EXO and took almost 2 minutes off a 2 mile climb I ride frequently (at same perceived effort). Your results may vary, but it turned my enduro bike into a much more versatile machine. Now I can keep up with my trail bike riding friends on the climbs as well as run away and hide from them on the descents. On the dry "loose over hard" conditions we currently are experiencing, I haven't noticed much, if any, reduction in traction on the rear compared to the DHR2.

I decided to get goggles since I sweat so much that glasses have a hard time staying in place when I go over roots and chunder at speed. These offer a wide field of view, up and down as well as side to side, that has improved my riding. What's really impressive to me is how fast they defog once you get rolling and how clear they stay.

The only downside for me is that they force my Troy Lee A2 helmet into an up-tilted position more than I'd like and they fit tight around my nose, enough that I can't really breath through my nose once they slip down a bit. I'll select my next goggles on how well they fit with my helmet.

I couldn't find any reviews where the reviewer used this tire heavily as a FRONT tire.

Turns out, if you ride XC and you need a multi-conditions tire in and around North GA then this should be on your short list. I didn't do the most scientific of comparisons, but with this tire on the front of my XC hardtail I was able to set PRs on every descent I tried. Also, due to increased cornering confidence (and speed) I was able to set some PRs on a lot of trail loops.

This is a tire with consistent and forgiving grip on the front of my short and steep geometry hardtail. This tire handled sandy and washed out turns and never broke traction before my rear tire. The confidence made it much easier for me to have fun on descents that previously I only tried to survive. I highly recommend it.
