Familiarity: I've used it several times
I have yet to actually crash in these ***knocks on wood*** but really like them. I typically ride with them around my ankles for the uphill then pull them up for the down, but I have ridden up with them on my knees a couple times. While any pad on your knee is going to restrict movement, I was impressed with how these moved with my legs. If I was going to spend any longer than 45 minutes or an hour going up I would probably just toss these in my pack and take them out again for the down.
Going down, they are comfy, don't pinch anywhere, and I haven't had any problems with them slipping down. The paddings feels solid and with the Kevlar I am confident that these will hold up well and protect my knees and legs well during a tumble.
