Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I debated between this jacket and the Gore 1985 GTX Shakedry. Both jackets are made from identical materials. The Rescue has a hood, chest pocket, and 1/2 zip. The 1985 has no hood, no chest pocket, higher collar, and a small rear pocket that the entire jacket can fold into.
I am 5'10" 175lb and just fit into the L. If I wanted to ran a base layer, jersey, and light insulation layer, the L was a tight fit and the XL would be better.
This jacket is feathery light. It does feel delicate and i would hesitate to use it mountain biking. I'd worry about long term durability around the shoulder straps if riding with a backpack. However, this jacket is a roadie and commuter dream. The hood fits snug and would need to go under a helmet.
