Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Like many other reviewers, I have suffered for many years with sore feet, cramming them into shoes that were too narrow, but just put up wth it. I tried the Shimano "wide" shoes, and they were a joke. I did some more research and found Lake, a brand of shoes I had many years ago.
Well, these are terrific, with plenty of width in the toe box, where my "6th toe" is not smashed. I have somewhat narrow ankles and found that the BOA tighteners had plenty of adjustment to get them just right.
The shoe has some depth to it so it was chafing a bit on my ankle, but once I got my shoes fit and got custom insoles, the chafing went away and the fit was perfect.
Anyone with wide forefoot and narrow ankle should give this shoe a try. They are well made and look good too! BTW, I normally wear a size 10 US.
