Familiarity: I've used it several times

Over the past couple of years, I have owned the Garmin Edge 510, 520, 1000 and most recently, the 820. Needless to say, I was pretty invested in Garmin offerings. But yes, the software is buggy. And yes, there were too many days when I would get ready for a ride and the Edge (any of them) wouldn't pair with my phone. As far as functionality, the Elemnt is as good as the Garmins in that it measures all the same data. It might be a little harder to see Di2 info, but that is not a major concern to me (though it may be to some). The great thing about the Elemnt is it just works. I have had very occasional drops of Bluetooth but not as many as with Garmin. The Elemnt is very easy to set up and using the app to control almost all of the functions is a great choice. It is somewhat larger than comparable (520/820) Garmins but the benefit is an easier-to-read screen. I love my Elemnt and it's definitely my favorite cycling computer.
