Familiarity: I've used it several times

For the discount price, I thought that this deal was too good to be true. I was correct. I was so excited to have these bibs that I immediately cut the tags, slipped them on, and went out on a nice 60 mile ride. I own a pair of Castelli Evoluzione bibs which are more of an entry level bib and I could not tell the difference between my cheap bibs and these "premium" bibs.

Firstly - Competitive Cyclist advertises these as having the luxurious Progetto X2 Air chamois and even shows pictures with this chamois. This is false, the bibs come with a Kiss 3 Air chamois - the same chamois that is in their lower end bibs. It is not particularly comfortable. The progetto was a huge selling point on these bibs for me and I was sadly let down.

Second - The photos show the bibs having shoulder straps with red fabric on the inside, leading one to beleive that this is a higher quality material. This is false as well - the shoulder straps are the exact same material as on the evoluzione and lower end bibs. It is a sigle layer of mesh material that is somewhat rough against the skin on long rides.

Lastly - the "dimpling" of the leg fabric. The dimpling is done on one side of the fabric, the other side does not have the dimples. The left leg of these shorts has the airflow dimples facing outwards (the correct way), while the right leg has the dimpling facing inwards (the wrong way). You can't see it from a couple of meters away, but up close the difference in texture is quite noticeable.

Overall I am very disappointed with the build quality and the fact that I vastly overpaid for features that could be found in much more inexpensive bibs. That being said, these are the best looking bibs around, and the lime green accents look very nice.

Seriously the best price for great quality. This is a great looking jersey that is also seriously comfortable and durable. Very understated design and great fit to match. Generally a bit loose fitting, but I sized down when I bought my second one. Of course this material isn't Assos quality, for the price you can get a great baselayer and avoid the dentist look that a baggy Assos jersey projects.

These are overall great at doing what they are meant to do - to keep your legs warm and out of the wind. I love that they can be used anywhere from very cold mornings to temperate spring or fall rides thanks to the good ventilation panles on the backs of the tights while the windproof front panels are soft and warm. My only gripe is the fit - they stay up nicely on the thighs thanks to the silicon gripper which is super comfy, but for some reason the fit around nd under the knee is a bit baggy when the leg is extended. Though this is purely aesthetic and doesn't affect the actual performance of the product.

Great bibs with really great materials. In my opinion, Gore is the master of textiles and this is no exception. The fit is great, the support of the chamois through to manly parts region is the best I've experienced and you don't get any pinching or numbness. My only complaint is that the compression of the shorts is not the tightest - which leads to more perceived muscle vibration over rough roads and a bit more fatigue on the longer rides as opposed to brands like Castelli.

I was skeptical that a baselayer could be used effectively under a jersey in both cold and dry temperatures, and I am so happy that this skepticism was wiped away. This undershirt keeps the jersey off of your skin and wicks away sweat so well that you never get that "wet jersey" feeling on those long hot rides. On the other side, when it's cold outside, it keeps that layer of warm air close to you thanks to the "unique" fishnet design. I will not be riding without this and may buy a second at this price point.

I've been using these for about two months now and pretty much bring them on all of my rides. for those cool misty morning rides they're great for keeping your toes the perfect temperature, and when it starts to warm up during the day, they still let your feet breath as they only cover abount halfway up your foot. I have tried them in the wet, and they soak up a lot of water as was expected. If it's wet these make a great insulting layer under your rain booties!
