Familiarity: I've used it several times
Apparently you do get what you pay for wrt cycling shoes. I owned an inexpensive (~$100) pair of cycling shoes that usually left my feet numb and sore after 20 minutes of riding. My Lake CX237 shoes were comfortable out of the box and that comfort has not wavered after several 50+ mile rides. The BOA system gives me a form fitting closure and it makes it easy to get the shoes on and off. The style speaks for itself. I wear a men’s US size 13 and purchased a European size 47. The fit is very good. I will recommend these shoes to any of my cycling friends who ask (to my competitors I will recommend my old, uncomfortable strap on clunkers, but that is just between you and me).
