Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my second pair of Lake CX 237's - they are hands-down the most comfortable bike shoe for anyone with a wide foot (and I mean anything past a D-width). The Boa closure is the very best - allows in-ride adjustment and precise fitting. As with all bike shoes, I recommend investing in a pair of custom orthotics (not Dr. Scholl's that you buy for $2 at CVS. They are worthless). You would be amazed how the extra support adds to the comfort especially during long rides. I had an issue with the heel of my prior Lake shoe. As we all know, that part wears out, and it would be great if Lake would sell an inexpensive replacement part. Otherwise, these are the only shoes I will ever buy. Thanks!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Been cycling my whole life. Went through many brands, many styles. I have a wide foot, but not Sasquatch - just an E width. Began to think that hot foot was something I'd have to bear my whole life, until I started riding with Lake CX 237. They are true to size and roomy enough in the toe box to prevent pain. In addition, the Boa closure system is fantastic. As I ride and my feet swell, it's so simple to just pop up the lock, wiggle my feet to get a little more room, and pop the snap the lock back down. Absolutely the best shoe ever.
