Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I am a road cyclist who rides almost every day. I've been riding a 2012 pair of Specialized S-Works shoes for the last 4 years but the time has come to retire them and move on. I loved the look of the Fizik shoes and read positive reviews and decided to take a shot.

The shoes came today and I love the look in person. Very sleek, and nice. The Boa dials are much better than my old ones and I really liked the pop up quick release feature. You can fine tune the fit with the dials as well (both tighter and looser). Very easy to get on and off.

The upper material felt great. It wraps around your foot nicely and feels soft but snug at the same time. Compared to my S-Works shoes there was more room in the toe box. This is a plus to me.

Overall the fit felt really nice. The sole feels about as stiff as the S-Works and the placement of the Boa dials makes the shoe feel nice and snug and gave me the feeling that the shoe really wrapped around my foot. At this point I really liked the shoe. It felt like it was of really high quality, the upper material is awesome, supportive but soft.

The deal breaker came with the heal. Simply put, I could not stop my heel from slipping. Not just a little but a quite a bit. I cranked the Boa dials down as firm as I could - so much so that after a few minutes I could feel the pressure point of each dial on the side of my foot and it started to cause my foot to fall asleep but I could not stop my heel from slipping.

I really wanted to like these shoes and they got 3 out of 4 areas right for me but the heel issue means I'm sending them back. Overall I would say if the heel works for you these would be an awesome pair of shoes. The upper is far superior in feel to the S-Works and the sole is nice and stiff. Fix the heal and I'd probably be a customer for a long time.

The description said the blackout lens was photochromic however it is not. None of the lenses included in this are photochromic. So with that said, they are nice and the ability to swap lenses works very well. In my opinion, all smith sunglasses run small and even though these are the 'max' version they are not overly big. They fit nicely under my catlike mixino helmet.

I am returning them but only because I want a photochromic pair of sunglasses.

I'm a roadie and I was looking for a warm, full fingered glove for 50 degree days. These are a little thin for that temp but they are very well made and would be great for days where you want a little bit more than the short finger gloves. Gore makes nice stuff and these are no exception. Big ups to CC for letting me return them for a warmer glove!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I didn't know what to expect with these shorts. I had read numerous positive reviews about them online but when they went on sale I decided to try them. By way of comparison, I have Pearl Izumi, Assos, Giordana and Exte Ondo shorts in my closet. The first thing I noticed about these shorts was the lycra. Its soft, very soft. Its not super compressive like the Pearl's. Its closer to the Assos lycra. I wasn't sure about it but decided to try them out. The lycra proved to be incredibly comfortable especially on long rides but the camois stole the show. If you've never tried an elastic chamois I highly recommend them. They always do what a good chamois should and provide comfort but they do it by moving with you as you ride. They never bunch and are always seem to be in the right spot and comfortable. My Assos shorts are similar - probably because they also use an elastic chamois.

I am 6'2" with a 36 in waist and the XL fits nicely. If you want a lot of compression on the thighs these may not be the shorts for you. If you want a really comfortable pair of shorts with a great chamois, I'd definitely give these a try.

Every item I've gotten from De Marchi has been of really excellent quality and these bibs are no exception.

Ok first off, the pink is quite a bit brighter than the photo. I like it, its high visibility but as other reviewers have mentioned, its a bright pink.

I've ordered a few De Marchi and have never been let down. Quality is top notch and this jersey is the same. Its a little thicker material so its probably better used for cool to warm days but I'd probably go with a lighter jersey once the temps go over 90. For the price I dont think you can beat it. I also ordered the pearl color which is really a light grey.

Overall I think this is a great jersey. Thicker fabric with a brushed feel inside will make for a really nice early or late season jersey. Just like all other De Marchi items, the quality is top shelf. Really nicely made.

My only gripe, and it is a small one, is that the color is more orange than red. The pic isnt really accurate - at least compared to the jersey I received. Not a deal breaker, just so you know.

I had the PI Elite warmers for a few years and when they finally developed a hole in the bottom I thought I'd try the Pro level warmers to see if they were better made or, well just better.

They are different than I thought. First off my PI elite warmers and these are the same size but these are bigger. They do cover more of the foot, they come up higher on the arch but they are also wider and deeper (top of the foot to the bottom). For me, they are too loose. I dont think they would fall off during a ride but they do wrinkle up and there is just excess material. I wear a size 45.5 / 46 shoe too.

The other part that I wasnt expecting was a velcro fastening tab on the bottom. The part that goes behind the cleat is a velcro fastening tab. It doesnt totally open, it does have an elastic that permanently connects the two sides but you can adjust it. It allowed me to tighten the top part of the warmer but with the excess material it creates strange balloon effect.

Last thing, there is no coverage on the bottom. The warmer just barely wraps around the side of the sole so if you need a large opening to fit your cleats this might work for you. I wanted some coverage as my shoes have a vent on the toe box in the sole that I prefer to cover in cold weather.

So to summarize, these seem to be well made but on the large side. I want a tighter fit and the excess material causes them to be loose fitting. I also want something the covers the sole area of my shoe a little better.
