Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a warm one. If you don't like the cold and still want to ride, this one will be the one you want. Temperatures in the mid 50's and lower will not be a problem. Unless you're climbing a steep hill. if so unzip at the bottom. Or else you'll heat up really fast. i have purchased a small and medium. The medium is a better fit.

If the cold weather usually doesn't discourage you from riding then this is for you. I have worn this one in temps as low as the mid 40's and it does the trick. Climbing should be kept to the low 50's and lower. Unzip the outside layer at the bottom. you may need to unzip the inside layer to some level part way up the hill. Depends on the grade. It is a fitted cut. just enough room for an under layer or race fit jersey.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like the socks. However they were slightly thinner than I expected. Otherwise for what it is, they are a good pair of socks. I have winter insulated riding boots and the socks complement them well in as low as 40 deg.f. And even better at those temperatures on longer rides after building up body heat. My usual commute is only about 6 miles each way.
