Familiarity: I've used it several times

These things are pretty darn grippy, the pattern on the bottom makes sense. The shoes are comfortable, I have a wide foot, and wear size 11.5 to 12, I bought a size 12, would say true to size, maybe a touch long, but hard to say since I didn’t try a 11.5, however no 11 ever fits my foot. 5.10 I’m sure are great shoes, but they are too narrow for my foot. The gator part around the ankle is genius, why don’t they and all mtn bike shoe manufacturers put this on all their shoes, no dirt or rocks got into my shoes. They lace up nice, shoe laces tuck under a elastic band across the tongue. Recommend these forsure. I’ll be getting another pair for sure and one for my lady. Dilly Dilly Shimano!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Thanks competitive cyclist team for this wheel recommendation. I need to add even recommended over some carbon wheels I was thinking of getting. These are as light and strong as some carbon options. Carbons would still be sweet though.

I ride a lot and could tell right away how these sweeeeet wheels were a good idea. I was skeptical at first spending this much but read on. I'm 195 6'1" ride a SC Tallboy LTC and have the 32 spoke in beautiful red. 32 spoke good idea, I could feel the lateral stiffness right away. My bike became much more responsive and controllable, especially at higher speeds. On cheap wheels it can sometimes feel like your tire is flat, or that its rolling sideways, also you can feel more out of control when turning at higher speeds, as if your body wants to go the opposite way of your bike, placebo? No, it's physics and lower quality equipment (wheels flexing/bending).
I rode my bike back to back with the I9s and cheaper wheels, yes, very different.

They are super smooth and that rear hub is awesome, very engaging, transfer of power is instant, and I love the sound they make and they look good. The way the tire sits on the rim secures the tire well and gives it a wider stance which adds more traction and less tire roll ability. No tire roll here. Enhanced my bike, ride quality Etc.. Your carbon fiber bike needs quality laterally stiff wheels to bring its full potential to light and match its laterally stiff characteristics. Higher performance cars don't have cheap wheels, and theres a reason.

Now the company, an American company, bonus. I ran over the edge of my rim with my full size truck after my second day of riding bending it in a little bit. Ahhhhhhhhh :( it still kept the tire on and no loss of air. There was no cracking that I could see, just the slight bend, but really holy crap strong rim. I probably could have ridden on it still but out of caution cause I ride hard, I called up Industry Nine and explained what happened. They were understanding and easy to work with, sent me out a rim at crash replacement cost. I9 has definitely gained a lifetime customer and promoter. Great company and product.
