Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

if you ride road, this jersey will be too cold, you will need a wind breaker because riding fast, the wind will just go thru it and it wont keep you warm. for mtb however, you normally ride much slower so it works well. the arms are a bit sticky due to the castelli logo, other than that, it's a decent jersey but not as warm as they describe. it's good for 60degree+ up to 15mph... if you ride 20mph+ you need to add a wind breaker.

I have lots of variety of shorts, castelli, giordana, sugoi...
i started wearing pearl izumi as a beginner then i wanted to step up and spend more, i tried big brands and there IS NOTHING LIKE THESE SHORTS... they are amazing, american fit, long inseam, fit is great, they don't move, they dont sweat, super dry and very comfortable.

this is now one of my favorite colder weather jersey.
I recommend using it in temps between 58 up to 70 for road bike, for mountain bike 50 to 60 degree.
the chest area feels cool, not much wind protection, so if you are descending you will feel the chill... the arms are pretty warm. so at some cases i was too warm on my arms and too cold on my chest hehe.. an easy fix to that is to wear a velo vest for wind protection.

so in short, this jersey and a wind vest makes a great setup for cooler rides.
this jersey is perfect for mtb riding.

runs small, so order size up.

this is a nice jacket to keep in your backpocket or camelback.
its packs very very small into its own pocket. it's super light too.
i have the white, and it's a transparent white.
SIZE UP. they run small. I usually wear XL for american apparel all my castelli is XXL.
the wind protection is excellent and it breathes well, so you dont find yourself sweating in it. just warm.
it does feel like a nylon bag hehe.. but its weight and size makes it a great item to always carry.

these were the first shorts i ever bought, they were very comfortable and fit perfect. they are also longer than the euro shorts.. which makes them even nicer. i then purchased more expensive shorts like castelli, and other higher end pearl izumis, and to be honest, they all feel similar...
it's a great value, you cant go wrong with these.

i have a round head and not all helmets fit me. I tried the trabec before this one, and it was TOO OVAL and gave me lots of pressure points on the side. Tectal fits much better as it's more round than trabec. the helmet adjustment system is genius, i now have Octal and Tectal both great helmets, Octal is ever rounder.

i bought and returned these shorts twice hehe, i usually wear Large, the XXL is the one that ended up fitting me well. its a great short, super comfortable, the chamois is very thin but WORKS. it breathes amazingly, i wear pearl izumi as well, and when i ride with pearl, i feel sweaty down thre, with this guy it's nice dry and airy.. great shorts, love the grips on the legs as well.
