Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I put a set of the Ardent EXO / TR tires on my Pivot 429c and couldn't be happier. Overall traction is almost as good as the High Roller II's, but they roll much faster. Great tire for all day trail rides and XC racing on the more technical courses.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I road the 5010 on a demo a few weekends ago and was blown away. It handles so well that it feels like an extension of your body. Santa Cruz hit a home run with this one as its a great all around bike that can be a XC racer or an all day trail bike. My wife and I were both so impressed with it that we bought one for her...hopefully she'll let me borrow it from time to time.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I road a lot of carbon, full suspension, 26er and 29ers looking for the right bike to compliment my Yeti ARC hard tail XC bike. I wanted a bike that was quick, efficient, and nimble yet still capable of rolling over some pretty rugged terrain during all day rides. The Mach 429c is one of two super agile 29ers that I came across. While a lot of full suspension 29ers handle like monster trucks the 429c handles like a responsive XC machine and is still capable of handling the rough stuff. The only things I changed from the stock set up is to chop down the handle bars slightly and replace the Kenda Slant 6 tires with my favorite XC tires.
