Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I came to mtb from road cycling and kept crashing on the trails because I couldn't get my foot out fast enough, especially on more technical terrain. I was using the SH-51 cleats at the time. A friend told me about the SH-56 and I have never gone back. I love that the cleat releases quicker and it's great for someone new to mtb. I will say that I'm more experienced now on the mtb and have noticed many times that my foot will release sometimes when I don't want it to, but for me I'd rather have the assurance that I'm able to get out of my pedal than to be crashing every ride because I can't get it out.

I bought these for a few reasons--they are bright, they were on sale, and they are water resistant. I've used them on a rainy day, light rain w road splash. They were great! Kept my legs dry and warm. It was high 50's degree Fahrenheit.
I found the fit to be snug but I liked it. No baggie leggings for this girl. I'm 5'8" and weigh 130lbs and the smalls were clutch.
I love the bright red color. I read an article that did a study on some of the best things to do to stay safe riding on the road--to be seen by cars. And bright leggings was one of the top ways to be seen. So I'm a fan.

I have ridden these for about 2-3 months now and have really liked them! Looking to maybe even buy a 2nd pair. I love that they hug my heel so that there's no sliding of my heel when running or walking w/ the bike. I also like the boa on top because my other mtb shoes have a side ratchet and during cyclocross season, the ratchet would come loose w/ dismounts. With the boa on top of the shoe, this does not happen. So stoked on that feature.

Love the way the shoe fits! It's hard for me to take them off because my foot is seated so well in the shoe, which I love--like I said, no sliding around in the heel. I was getting foot cramps in my other shoe pair, but with these, I have inserted the arch support and find it fits much better.

Wear and tear has been really good so far. The shoe is sturdy and takes a beating with the 20-65 mile mtb/gravel races I've done on them so far.

For a lower budget shoe, this one rocks! Would buy them again.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used these tires now for about a month and have taken them on gravel and single track. The 3rd ride I took them on, I punctured the tire on a sharp rock. It kept bleeding sealant, but thankfully I could finish the ride, but had to take the tire back to get a new one. I was running about 35 psi at the time (I weigh ~130lbs) so it made me nervous for my gravel race coming up, so I ran higher pressures at 40 psi. A lot of folks flatted on the gravel race that I used these tires on, but I didn't, so at least the tires held up for the race!! I'm pleased with the width of the tire and find the traction decent on dirt roads and gravel. However, the tires do seem be a little less durable on single track. I gave it 4 stars for the lack of durability since it punctured on my 3rd ride requiring a new tire (I kept trying to use the tire after it punctured, but the sealant would squirt out as soon as the tire pressure was above 35 psi).

I have used this for a year now and just recently did a stage race with 3 days of rain. I used the DZ Nuts medium heat every day. It goes on nicely--like a lotion. It smells good and activates after about 45 minutes. One of the days we rode a short way in the rain and then had to ride in a car for an hour to the race start. The rain activated the embro so the legs were very warm at the start! I loved it!
I always wash my hands after applying.

These are my first road bike shoes. I found the fit very comfortable and I really liked the rachet system. I definitely felt like I had more power on the pedal upstroke in these shoes over the mountain bike shoes I was previously wearing. My one complaint was that the tongue is a little thick and I found it bruising my ankle for about a month after I started wearing them. Eventually it went away, but it sure bothered me for a while.

I raced in these shoes all summer and they served me well in several wins. I don't think you need a carbon sole to be strong on the bike.
