Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had a few Castelli jerseys and this one needed to go the XL route as I returned a Large. It took some getting used to the collar that is low and the jersey feels a little short for those with a longer torso, but after I sized up and am positioned on the bike all is well. It is a very light material that works great on hot days.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After purchasing the Lake CX237 road shoe in Spring and loving the extra room the toe box, it was time to upgrade my mountain / commuter shoes. I considered a number of other brands, (Giro, Mavic, Specialized) I ordered the MX237. They feel just like the road shoes in the toe box and had soft rubber lugs that aid traction when walking. The bright orange was a bonus for commuting days, but I do admit there are some kit colors that clash.

I use Specialized inserts in my Lake shoes as that cured a foot pain I had last year. The combination of stiff sole and the inserts has been perfect for long rides. There is enough room in the shoe to add the wedges I need.

I have gotten them completely soaked on a commute home in the rain. They dried nicely and softened up in the next use.

I have put a few hundred miles on these shoes and they are holding up well, albeit the leather does scuff in the heel area. The toe is nicely protected by the rubber part of sole.

My prior shoes were Mavic and Sette that served me for many years but it will be hard to consider another brand than Lake looking forward.
