Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have loved every ride I've been on since I got these shorts! They aren't too tight on my thighs at the bottom of the shorts and they have the BEST chamois padding. I do admit it makes me feel like I'm wearing a diaper when I'm not in the saddle, but it's worth it. I definitely wear these for my long 2hr+ rides.

I recently tried these Sugoi shorts and love them!

I have been needing an upgrade in short quality so that I wasn't so tender after rides. These shorts are perfect for the 1hr-2hr rides as well as shorter ones during the week. The chamois has almost "zoned" areas with specific type of padding which completely erases any chafing I used to feel. I think the only short I've worn that supports me better is the Castelli Body Paint 2.0 (but that short is expensive and has a lot of padding....) For the shorter/medium rides I prefer these Sugois because they don't over do it on padding.

When I first started biking my husband bought this seat for me. I loved it purely because I had been riding on the crappy seat that came with my bike and anything would have been a step up from that.

The description given has a lot of true points:
1. I love that it has a more narrow front so that my legs/shorts don't rub
2. The saddle is firm but supportive- I don't feel like I'm bouncing around on a squishy seat at the gym :)
3. the seat fits my sit bones well- I'm a size 8/29 in pants if that helps you gauge it for yourself

only complaints: I have altered the positioning of the seat so that the front tips up a little bit because I feel like I'm sliding forward and ultimately resting my whole booty on the front of the seat... therefore constantly adjusting...which is not fun.

But I haven't been able to find anything else that's better yet (and I've tried 3 saddles so far this summer)

I have two pairs of these Sugar Shorts. I bought one two years ago, and the other last year. I bought them because I liked that they were shorter and that the bottom cuff of the shorts weren't too tight on my thighs, plus the price was great.
But I've started to ride more often and for longer. These shorts do not do the job for that- not enough compression, and padding is weird. I still really like wearing them for short rides (30-40 min)... but if that's not what you want- then bite the bullet and get the more expensive pair with better compression and better padding- it's worth it.
