Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave these as a gift to my brother, who rides 5-6 times a week. Here's what he had to say:

Excellent shorts! They have a nice stretch, 2 regular pockets, and 2 zippered pockets. They also have a nice silicon band around the waist that helps keep your shorts up when you are flying high speed through brake bumps, roots, and rocks. The zipper pockets can fit a phone, but the regular pockets are angled and placed perfectly were your phone won’t fall out.

In warm weather, they are well vented and don’t retain heat, so you feel cool. The fabric holds up well to trees and crashes too.

For fit, I have a 32” waist and am 6'2" and the mediums fit perfectly.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Road bikes have had electronic shifting for years now and it's about time us dirt shredders got some of the technology. Zero wires! True wireless electronic shifting is a dream! This made for the easiest setup on a new bike you could ever have. The shifting is so smooth and the battery lasts a good amount of time. The battery is removable, small, and you can buy extras if you need to. The remote is programmable and doesn’t have the long lever throw that a cable lever would. I placed this on my SB130 and it just worked! The derailleur shifts great, even under torque while also being almost silent. Lastly, the derailleur will move out of harm's way if you do end up laying your bike on its side. If you are looking to put AXS on your trail or enduro bike, X01 is the best option. It is a little more rugged than the XX1 version. Once you go wireless, you will never go back.

Excellent fork with an unlimited amount of adjustments (LSR, HSR, LSC, HSC). It will take you a little longer to get this forked tuned for your perfect fit because of the number of adjustments available but once you do you will never have a better riding fork. The small bump and berm compliance is extraordinary. Brake bumps and roots are eaten up and you don’t lose traction. Over rocky terrain, it feels to have the right amount of dampness but needs to be ridden aggressively.

The range of this cassette is unbelievable. Eagle 12 speed is the way to go on any XC, Trail, or Enduro bike if you want to be able to climb the steepest terrain with ease and have great reliability. The X01 cassette is worth the cost difference versus the GX. It is lighter, made with more durable materials, and constructed better.

The stopping power and adjustability on the Code brakes are excellent. There are several different adjustments you can make to ensure you get the perfect fit for how you ride or what conditions you are riding in. Easily make you more confident because you know you can stop faster or apply the brakes when you need to. I’d suggest these brakes for any enduro or DH rig.

This bike is fun! If you live in the Rocky Mountains area then this bike is for you and can do it all. From climbing to descending, you will not find a bike that makes a better one-bike quiver. The high seat tube angle makes this bike climb like an XC bike while the BB height and length of the bike gives you great control on technical descents. The SB 130 has just enough suspension travel to conquer even the bike park. Continuing with travel, Yeti’s Switch Infinity helps with small bump compliance but still has the stiffness to support climbing efficiency. The shock (DPX2) compliments the Switch Infinity linkage without making the backend feel soft or over-the-top. Lastly, the drivetrain (X01) is impressive. Shifting is precise, cranks are stiff and light, and the cassette offers a huge range.

Currently, I ride this bike in the Wasatch/Park City (Utah) area which consists of climbing straight up and then a full descent back to the bottom. The climbing efficiency and traction provided make uphills less strenuous and superior on technical climbs. If you want the ability to shred a wide range of trails, whether that be uphill or downhill, then the SB130 is for you. Yes… this bike is expensive, but it delivers on performance and fun factor for the price.

Gave these as a gift to my brother, and here is what he says: These shorts fit as expected for the size. They have zippered pockets which are a must for mountain biking shorts. They don’t have much stretch and make some noise when pedaling. If you are buying these for anything but foul weather, I’d look towards a different pair of Fox shorts. These have zero breathability and aren’t great for riding unless you know you are going to get rained on. The weatherproofing aspect of these shorts is where they stand out. Even the pockets are weatherproof to keep your phone, wallet, and/or keys dry.

This is a great GPS watch. It tracks HR as well as distance and elevation, which are key for runs or hikes. The only downside is that the tracking seems a little off. If I'm recording with a friend or on another device, it always seems to be less with the GPS watch. Kinda weird! The HR monitor isn't the best either, but that's what I'd expect for a wrist HR monitor vs a chest strap.
