Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just wore this jersey for the first time on a chilly New England morning, and am very happy with it. The fabric is soft and comfortable against the skin. With the full-length zipper you can dump heat very quickly, and zip back up to the throat for the downhill. The sleeves are cut very slim, oddly enough, but not uncomfortably so. If you had burly arms they might be tight. They are, however, plenty long, and keep wrists warm. The tail in front is cut rather high, but did not pull out of my shorts. Another winner from Pearl Izumi.

This jersey is both real nice and kinda dumb. It is designed for protection against the sun on hot days, but has a wide open neck. I would think that if you wanted to protect your arms from the sun, you would want to protect the back of your neck, too. The fabric is nice and soft, while very light, and the fit is nice, with plenty long sleeves, and the vent panels are a great idea. I just can't get past that open neck. I may return it.

I love my Fox Attack Water Jacket, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with this jersey. I was wrong. First, it's hardly a jersey, but more of a light jacket. The fabric inside is a nice warm cushy fleece, except down the front, which is unlined, with a slippery fabric that is uncomfortable against the skin. It fits snug around the shoulders, but puffy in the front. (Are there THAT many fat mountain bikers?) It would be very difficult to fit a base layer under it, and who wears a base layer under a jersey? The sleeves are too short. The flimsy plastic zipper sticks at the bottom, and would not stand up to the hard pull it takes to get it to come open. I love Fox stuff, but not this jersey.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I just love this jacket! It breaks the cold wind, shrugs off rain, is fitted enough to look good, but generous enough to wear over a fleece jacket. I can easily stuff it into my fanny pack. Basic black is my color. The logo on the back is a bit garish, but is also reflective. Expensive, and worth every penny. For cold weather riding you can't do better than this jacket.

These are designed for motocross, and to fit under an open full-face helmet. See 100% website. They will not fit beneath a regular cycling helmet. My old ski goggles work much better with a regular mtb helmet.
