Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Despite a lot of riders liking this shoe, personally I found the mid-sole and insole design poor. On the outsole you have the grip which seems good. But, but then you only have a thin plastic midsole then the insole/footbed. So you are standing on thin plastic covered by a thin insole insert. I always wear and run in minimalistic shoes and even go barefoot alot but this shoe just seems odd. Maybe it is because I have high arches, I don't know as most people seem to like them. They also have a lot of heel lift, like I've found with all Shimano shoes. Returning them. Will stick with the Five Ten Impacts I have for how.

Great feel and grip. Lacks the concave feel of a pedal like a DMR, which I think holds your foot better, but the flatter platform feels more responsive for trail riding. So, my Vaults go on my huckin' bike and the RFs go on my trail bike.

Pedals spin too freely.

One pedal developed lateral play. Screw bottomed out on shaft before it could take up slack. Had to file down shaft so screw could take up the play and now they work well, but for the money I should not have had to "fix" their problem.
