Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I wear a 46A and the land of bike shoes is a barren, empty place for me. These shoes say they are built on a narrow last. That seems true, but the upper is a veritable land of Canaan, a lush, roomy place. This isn't a big problem, but I have to over tighten the upper to keep my foot in place, and this causes a real problem, the tongue of the shoe pinches and bunches up where it meets the rest of the upper. This pinches your foot. For a $529 shoe, that's disappointing. Otherwise the shoes are great. The BOA dials were a huge step up from a 2010 BOA shoe, the sole is magnificent, and the leather is wonderful: supple and sturdy. Be sure to buy the Speedplay metal insert if you bought the Speedplay specific shoe. I think I agree with the other reviewers that they run a touch long, but I'm normally a 46 and I don't really think they're too long, but maybe I could have gone 45.5 if there is such a thing.
