Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are warm shorts, and I am comfortable wearing these with a good pair of knee warmers down to the low 30s. I've worn them in temps in the upper 50s and over heating is not a problem. Road spray and drizzle is kept out completely. They will get soaked if it's properly raining, although are fairly windproof so won't chill you too much when wet. An absolute bargain when on sale at around $70 or less, and I bought two pairs, but I like them so much I would probably pay full price they're that good.

This is a product that does what Sugoi claims. It is absolutely waterproof, but surprisingly breathable. My first ride out with it was a wet 4 hour ride with 5,000ft of climbing, so a pretty good test. The jacket was dry inside when I got home. I have used a few other jackets in the past, eVent, Gore Tex, etc., which were waterproof but boil in the bags compared to Polartec Neoshell. I am super impressed.

I found sizing to be spot on. I'm a little over 6', chest is 42, weight is 180, and a large fits me very well.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a very good fork. Not that long ago I had sworn off Fox products. I tried the 2015 36 and was very impressed. Sold my Pike, and replaced it with the 36 on my AM bike. The 34 is quite close in performance to the Pike. Stiffness is similar. low speed damping is very similar, with both feeling quite plush. The high speed damping on the 34 feels better than the Pike. I have not put many miles on the 34, so don't know how often it will need to be serviced or how much performance will suffer if not serviced as often as recommended. However, if it's as good as my 36 in that regard, then I'll be happy. One thing to note, the weight is about 100g more than advertised, so it's actually not much lighter than a Pike.
