This small bell doesn’t make a loud enough sound to warn people/cars. Wished I ordered the larger bell (which is still small and is MUCH better!). The only reason to buy this small version is if you need a bell in order to be legal in some states that require a bell on your bike and you don’t care if no one can hear it.

....the battery in mapping (especially on a cold day!) could last a whole 50+ mile ride without going into power save mode and the screen turning off until I get home to recharge it. I even hit the stop button and do a “soft” turn off during a 1/2 hour lunch break to conserve the battery and it still is terrible! My latest way to make this work on a long day with maps is to bring my trusty Anker fast charging battery and charge up during my reststop with it on and not turning off. I was able to get it from 23% to almost 80% in a half hour. I know about the power save mode option, but prefer my Garmin not to shut down during the ride until my next turn or tapping the screen to wake up. If it wasn’t for the poor battery life, I would absolutely love this little guy.

I have 2 pairs of these (one all black and the other with the pink on the calves). I really don’t think they are see through like the other reviewer stated, but I have only worn them with a thin pair of tights underneath for added warmth. Even without the tights underneath, they are a solid thermal coated material and not that flimsy thin type. Love these and I highly recommend in colder temps.

I am very happy with this jersey so far. Have worn it twice now and I like the look and feel, even in hot muggy temps, thanks to the nice breathable fabric. There are three back pockets, but wished there was also a small zippered pocket for a key/money. Love the full zipper and colorful diagonal flattering patterns on the black version. This jersey seems to be more of a racer fit with a somewhat shorter front and slightly longer back and sleeves. Bought the medium and it is a perfect fit (118#/5ft 3in). If in between sizes, I would recommend sizing up one.

Nice, but not perfect for me

I wore this jacket for the first time the other day in fridgid temps with a long sleeve base layer as well as a thermal long sleeve jersey. I was comfortable while riding, but unfortunately am not completely loving the fit off the bike (maybe there is extra room in the mid section to allow for the added attached inner warm fabric to fit properly under the jacket?). Thinking it is more of a relaxed fit rather than a racer one. Bought the medium (5’3”, 117 lbs.)

Haven’t worn these socks yet, I feel it looks like I need to do laundry and needed to grab whatever socks were available. Nice material, but in my opinion, I will stick with a matching pair next time. Good to wear under long tights when you can’t see them. Wished it had some coordinating patterns in the opposite colors on the backs of both to look more like a set pair.

Nice high quality jersey that is comfortable and light. Love the pink color with the black stripes in just the right places. Wish it had a back small zippered pocket for money/key, but the back three pockets are great.
Full front zipper is perfect. Def recommend. Runs true to size.

#1 winter cycling jacket by far!
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Amazing winter protection riding wear in every way... warm (including your butt with the slightly longer material in back), extremely comfortable, breathable (love the back material with the flaps), looks great, high quality layers in all the right spots, 3 pockets, plus a zippered one, etc, etc, etc!

I have several other winter jackets, but I keep going back to this one. Worth the crazy price if you plan on riding in frigid temps.

My only issue is the attached neck/mouth Gator (which under it’s own right, is unbelievably warm and easy to breath with over your mouth and nose). Why did Assos attach it to this awesome jacket without having a small zipper to take off when not needed??? I didn’t like tucking it into the back elastic tie and feeling like the Hunchback of Notre Dame! I did myself a favor and cut it out carefully and have been using it with my ski coat when skiing as well.

Runs small, I have the large and it’s perfect! I am 5’3” and 117 pounds. I have the black version, but have seen the white version and it'€™s beautiful too.

Highly recommend, you won'€™t be sorry!

Haven’t worn them yet, so basing my review only on just trying it on.
The fit is fine everywhere except way too loose around the bottom of my thighs. Hoping to wear them regardless, but not sure if anyone else has that issue? I also don’t love the red decorative line like I thought I would have (makes you look more curvy), wish it was all black. Bought the medium (5’3” and 117 pounds) and the waist and chamois seem perfect.

If there is one area of trouble, it’s with the crummy zipper connection at bottom and not in the jersey’s look or feel. I recommend taking the pull-string out of the zipper and moving it to the bottom zipper hole, which helps, but still not perfect... sometimes still gets stuck! Great cold weather jersey you can use for all winter sports (wore it skiing today under my coat).
Even with the zipper issue, I still love this jersey and would buy it again. The medium fits great (5’3”, 117#).

More for hiking than biking
4 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I would not use this again to bike... the hood when you look back in traffic sometimes gets in the way and the strings from the hood flying in the wind was not great either. I would recommend this nice jacket for hiking or even every day use instead of biking (unless you are on a fun joy ride). Nice quality and warm. I should have ordered a small (5 foot 3 inches, 118#), runs slightly larger. Bought the fun colorful one.

Just received this jersey and I'm looking forward to wearing on the next hot day, which is hopefully this weekend. Based on just trying it on and not yet wearing it on a ride, it runs extremely small. The bands around the arms are a little snug, so hopefully not a problem when riding. I'm 118 pounds, 5'3" and bought the large, but the XL would have been good too. Overall happy with it and looking forward to wearing it.

Another quality jersey that's warm and doesn't disappoint made by Castelli. Love the fit and seems to run true to size (I'm 5'3", 116#, size med). I have it in red, which isn't bad, but the one negative is that it reminds me of something out of Star Trek (that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5).
Besides using to bike, I have also used it as a layer hiking and skiing. Very comfortable and warm, plus love the long layered diagonal cuffs that stay put and keep the wind out under your gloves.

Built like a truck for a good 3 years

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After 3 Spartan Races (muddy obstacle course races), plus numerous hikes, these amazing shoes had to finally be put down to rest.

Although it sounds sad, I was very happy and thought they out performed for three solid years of rocky terrain, climate abuse, etc. The material is still perfect, the only reason I needed to replace is because the outer soles were so worn down that they weren't safe any longer on uneven terrain.

Also, I loved how easy they were to hose off the dirt from the outsides as well as removing the inner awesome soles after muddy races. Afterwards, I would just leave outside to dry and would look as good as new again.

The lace system is great and stayed tight once locked into place. It even has a hidden small "lace pocket" built into the tongue for the lock mechanism that would always stay mud free and out of sight.

Definitely splurge, they are worth it!

Ok, this men's version of this jacket is amazing, not sure if there's a comparable women's version that's this warm and in yellow? I am a huge fan of Castelli and this jacket definitely doesn't disappoint. I agree with the other posts that this particular jacket runs very small. I am 5'3", 116 pounds and I am usually a woman's small or medium. In this men's jacket, I needed the medium. I would think a man who usually wears a medium would need the large or even the XL for more room to layer?
As far as wind coming through the zipper, I haven't felt it, but that could be because I have on at least 2-3 layers underneath in the 30 degree range. Love the 3 deep back pockets, plus the reflective zippered rear pocket for $ and a key.
Size up 1-2 sizes and enjoy your breezy cold winter ride, plus washes really well in cold water and hang to dry!!!
