Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've had some issues with narrower shoes lately and decided to try these. I saw that many had to buy a size up so I bought a size 47 instead of my normal 46.5 (I'm usually a US Size 12). Unfortunately, that turned out to be a little too big but I think I can still work with it. In my case, at least, my usual go-to size would've worked out better. In any case, the shoes are comfortable, well-ventilated and seem to offer great support and power-transfer. I really like that I have multiple levels of insole arch-support available to customize to my liking.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

At heavily discounted prices these are typically going for, they aren't a bad choice. You can save a little bit of weight, gain a little bit of strength and save a fair amount of money by going with Race Face Turbine cranks instead, though. Ultimately, I chose these for vanity in matching my XTR drivetrain. That sense of vanity is easily dashed, though, when you find that the XTR graphics come off if you so much as rub on the cranks. I had placed protective tape on but the tape wore down and peeled, taking the graphics with it.

I bought one of these bells for each of my bikes during the Kickstarter campaign. They are terrible. You have to get the thumb-flick perfectly executed in a perpendicular line away from the bell. If you don't, you get a muffled ding and might even twist the spring-loaded lever. Then you'll need to straighten it out to ring again and that means pulling over to do so without risk. If you do manage that perfect thumb-flick, you'll get a very nice-sounding ring that is audible to about 4 feet away. Good luck warning anyone with that.
