Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This chainring is great. The oval is a noticeable difference and took me a couple of rides to get used to. But whether you are on flats or clipless it makes for a pedal stroke that feels more consistent and equally powerful all the way around. If you are making some upgrades to your drivetrain you should add this to your list! I'll be sticking with the oval from here out.

This bike so much fun! I know 29er's are all the rage these days, but don't you remember how nimble and quick 27.5 was on the downhills? How fast you could hit turns? Those jump lines felt so comfortable. Your confidence was at an all-time high with those fun 27.5 wheels. The 5010 is all this and so much more. There is a flip chip that allows you to slack the bike out a bit, this is my preferred set up. The bb gets a little low, pedal strikes are surprisingly easy but the slightly slacked out geo feels so great! Flow trails are a blast, rock gardens become playful. I shoud mention also that this bike climbs pretty great as well! It's not a Santa Cruz Blur or XC race bike on the way up, but with its mid travel and healthy weight, the uphills aren't bad. Plus you can lock the shock out for some extra efficiency.
Bottom line, one of my favorite bikes on the down for mid travel, its super fun and playful, quick and nimble. For the uphills, it's a bike! Going uphill, you're the motor, it'll do as good and go as fast as you can push it! I am 5'10" and ride the medium but could ride a large as well.

I am 5'10 with a 32" inseam and rode this bike in a medium in Utah and Colorado. This is hands down one of my favorite bikes next to the Yeti SB130. I would say choosing between these two bikes is a riding style preference. Yeti for fast and crushing climbs, evil for taking the fun up another notch and having the most fun playful downhills you can! But riding this bike all over the Grand Junction area this bike climbs like a beast, the 29er wheels make the ups so much faster and easier. When the downhill comes around the progressive geometry of the bike inspires confidence to jump blind into rock gardens to go bigger and faster than you have before. With Dave's DELTA rear suspension design, you get a progressive flex, the 140mm travel feels like so much more! I certainly use all of the travel, but don't feel like I need more at all. If you are looking for a bike in evil's line catered towards smoother trails, berms, and jumps, look at the following. But if you want a bike that'll crush everything in the trail and get up for lap after lap, day after day, this is my top choice.

I've been able to spend some weekends on this bike in a medium. I am 5'10" with a 32" inseam. The medium fits great, but a large would probably be my go-to for a longer and more stable bike.

The 120mm rear travel is surprisingly capable, depending on your riding style and local trails this could make for an awesome everyday trail crusher. On smooth flow trails with berms, pumps, and jumps this bike is a blast! When things get a little more rocky and techy, this bike still rolls them pretty easily, especially compared to other bikes with similar travel. The offering, with a 140mm rear travel, is certainly better suited for the more rocky an technical trails though.

This bike is my top pick for a shorter travel 29er that has some pretty progressive geometry. Size up for more bike and stability, or stick with true to size for a fun and nimble ride. If you are riding smooth flow trails for days, this bike is amazing. It'll rip jumps and berms no problem. If you want a little more cush to your ride, go with offering to better handle faster steeper descents.

This toolset is pretty well stocked. For doing bike trips it is super easy to grab this with the rest of the gear. Whatever bike problem you encounter this toolset is pretty ready to tackle. The tools have a nice weight to them so they feel solid to work with. Would fully recommend if you are looking for a good collection of bike tools to cover your daily mechanic needs. Also, the tool case is easily attached to a repair stand so you have everything organized and easy acces!
