Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These knee pads pedal so well it's hard to believe they offer hardshell protection. The articulating cuff around your thigh is hard to see in the picture, but it allows for comfortable and effortless range of motion while it keeps the pads in place through pedal strokes and pushes.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

When it comes time to let everyone know I went for a bike ride with a quick IG pic, or tell the wife that I'm going to be a little longer than anticipated, these gloves will work for index or thumb typists alike. If you're an excessive social media poster, you can switch between digits as they cramp and fatigue.
They also have a nice soft and comfy feel on the palm, but continue to grip as sweat or water soaks them.

Say what you will, but I almost always ride with my phone in the thigh pocket of my shorts. Most shorts will go with a deep pocket to prevent things from falling out, which leads to the phone dangling down near my knee. This creates excessive phone bounce under aggressive pedaling. The Syncline short has zippered hand pockets that are shallower than most. This keeps your phone, tool, or whatever is in your pocket nice and tight against your thigh. I don't condone all pockets being zippered, but it's a sweet feature of this short.
