Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had two pairs of Garmin Vector 3 (left and right power meters). I've tried all the service bulletins, including adding baby oil to the battery contacts every time I change them ... I can't make this up. Garmin has warranty replaced the battery doors, and again, the entire pedal set with the newer version. Still, the power drop outs/disconnects continue. It seems this is a design defect where the batteries still jiggle inside the pedal and causes power disconnects, especially from the right-to-left pedal Bluetooth bridge. You can solve this by permanently disabling the right pedal and use the left one on ANT+ only, but then you just paid $999 for a very heavy paperweight.

Garmin refused to give me a refund, even after the second pair of warranty pedals kept disconnecting.

I got the Assiomas and they are not only cheaper, but they are lighter, made better, look good, spin far more smoothly (the Garmin Vector 3 pedals spin like there is glue inside), and basically just work.

Great product from Pearl Izumi that hits price-to-value. There are no seams that you can feel so it's ultra comfy and the light fleece layer underneath keeps me warm in 45-60F in California winter as a standalone lower-body piece. The Chamois is lighter than in Pearl's regular elite cycling shorts, but still adequate for me (40+ mile regular workout rides). I think this is just highly personal. Speaking of personal, this bib is way easier to use at a restroom stop than the Santini bibs due to a nice deep v-cut and flexible fabric in the right area.

Like with any sensitive kit, be careful with the velcro around your gloves on this piece and always wash in a delicates bag. That's how you keep the knicks to a minimal on the smooth poly finish.

Great fitting quality piece for the colder-season here in California. It does as great job at keeping me warmer in general, but lacks any kind of windproofing (air moves through it freely). So this means maximum breathability which is great, but minimum protection on cold descents or windy passes. I have to carry a stowable light jacket for those situations with this piece; I am using it as part of my layering options. Pockets are just the way you want them and looks good too.
