Familiarity: I've used it several times

Selle SMP makes the best saddles that I have used. The curvature provides comfort, both in the upright and racing positions. This particular saddle (Nymber) has minimal padding. This can be compensated for with a high-quality chamois in your shorts. I have a waist of 36 inches and a saddle of 138-139mm works great for me.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are the bibs that I instinctively grab when I'm going out on a 100-mile Saturday ride. I love the lightweight, forgiving material in the shoulder straps. The shorts have compression, but are not a race-compression. The chamois is substantial, without being too bulky. The top layer material on the chamois is such that creme is not needed. I machine-wash mine with sport wash in a lingerie bag, or by hand in the sink, and air dry. Take care of them, and they will last you many seasons.

No pinching, no binding, no bunching. This is the closest I've come to the proverbial second skin. It uses a mesh material where you want to breathe and an aero material elsewhere. This gives a great balance of comfort and speed. The leg is a bit longer than normal, which reduces drag on the lower leg. The gripper is minimal and the laser cut opening is almost unnoticeable. I have skinny legs for my height, they may be more snug if your thighs are larger. I like the feeling of compression, but it takes some getting used to if you are new to cycling. The chamois is second to none, both in terms of comfort and durability. The floating top layer of the chamois means it can move across the rest of the chamois instead of dragging across your underside. You can ride all day long in these! You're going to feel like a pro in these bibs.

Best shoe covers I have used. They do run small. I wear 46 and the XXL is perfect. Shoe covers that are too tight will wear out more quickly. Avoid this issue by getting a pair that stay put, but don't compress the shoe. I've ridden in these covers down to 30 degrees with a wool sock and they kept my feet off my mind.
