Familiarity: I've used it several times

These seem like perfectly good pedals. For the price, I think theyre just right, though I was hoping for something a little lower profile. I havent put a ton of miles on them, but I have certainly smashed a few rocks and they have held up just fine. Time will tell whether these are good pedals or great pedals.

Great pair of shoes. Casual enough to wear to the bar and stiff enough to ride the gnarliest trails. The Vibram sole is good and sticky without leaving marks on the floor. I haven't fully put them through the paces, but they seem like they are going to hold up just fine. The fit is a little large, so I would suggest buying true to size or down if you are on the fence.

I've been on XT pedals for a while, but this is my first set of M8020s, having just come off the 875 trails. Did I notice the 11% increase in surface contact area? Well, lets just say I'm glad to know Shimano is consistently refining an already fantastic product. Tough as nails, great feel and float, and can be rebuilt for eternity. Maybe not the lightest pedal but you can be sure they wont explode when you happen to tap a rock.

I think we've covered it: light, stiff and gorgeous. Just make sure you hit those bolts with a torque wrench! Seen a few broken face plates over the years from over torquing. There is no need for silverbacking those bolts on a stem this precise and refined.
