Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my 6th Osprey backpack for MTB. The packs are awesome, sensible compartments, comfortable for 3-4 hour rides and a good looking design. The fail comes into play with the bite valves, They begin leaking after only a short time of use, so be sure to keep spares in stock. Yes, they can twist and lock, but not an easy task to unlock the valve when both hands are on the bars while riding. So much for on the go hydration. This is a known issue and long overdue for Osprey to remedy.

Ultimate Riding Machine
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

My first online bike purchase. I decided to go all out with a custom build. My rep, Ben, did a great job of helping me select components, making sure I didn't miss anything and advising on all the options. We went thru several rounds of changes before completing the order, but I never felt pressured to make a purchase, which I appreciated.

The bike arrived in immaculate condition. It was very well packaged, protected from damage and scratches. Lots of attention to detail and all the parts, tools and manuals were intact. I ordered custom wheels from another vendor, so I had to complete the drive train assembly, but it went together like butter.

Due to some work travel, I didn't get the bike unpackaged for a couple weeks. After opening it, I realized I had to make a few last minute changes, like swapping the dropper for a shorter size and opting for shorting cranks. BC made it all very easy to return and replace each item with zero hassle.

The bike itself is by far the ultimate riding machine. It will be difficult for SC to improve on this iteration. Fully capable in the AZ terrain and so much more, I look forward to many great rides on this ripper .

These gloves are a great balance between protection & coolness. I live in Phoenix and ride quite a bit during summer and they stay fairly cool, but I do keep a second pair in my pack on really hot days when I soak thru them. I have had two crashes where my hands took the brunt of impact, but no road rash occurred on my hands.

The downside is the velcro tends to lose its tackiness after several dozen rides. I'm not sure why this occurs. It could be defective velcro or maybe my heavy sweating affects the tackiness. Either way, it shortens the life of the glove.

I bought this pack to downsize from a Camelbak Luxe. Pros: Carries everything I need for day MTB rides, lightweight and barely noticeable, practical design. Cons: Difficult to fill bladder, hose does not detach from bladder, difficult to clean bladder and no real easy way to allow it to dry.

Cleaning kit and quick connect valve kit available from Osprey.com. for additional $34. Makes it a bit pricey when compared to Camelbak products which are easy to clean, dry and come with detachable hose.
