Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I had to return these amazing shoes on account of them being a bit narrow for my flip flop adorned duck feet :D

The standard width was really really narrow IMO. My left foot is a bit wider than my right, the right foot felt awesome, but my left could not take the pain.

Based on my narrowness experience this size chart makes perfect sense now!

http://www.bont.com/Cycling/items/support/sizeChart.html

Hoping CC gets some BONTs in size wide here in the future. I wear NorthWaves in a 44 with a small amount of room to spare, will get BONT in 44.5 to have the same experience.

Beyond excellent quality and stiffness but my feet are just too wide.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I enjoy the aesthetics of Thomson but the quality can't be beat.

I've used zero-offset posts for some time now and I'm all in on Thomson. Some other stuff might be a few grams lighter but there's something about a Thomson, that badass look!

It makes my already amazing bike better!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I ordered the 42.5s as per the sizing chart and I could barely get my foot in the shoe. I'm currently running Giro Trans 44s and I wear Nike basketball socks to get that extra thick foot padding in the toe box.

I sent the 42.5s back and rocked some 44s. If I were running thin cycling socks I would have went 43.5 so the benchmark should be +1 for sizing.

I liked the simple lines/grid on the sole for cleat alignment. Dialing in LOOKs was really easy. I have ~~5 miles in these shoes and they're amazing. Very thin and very stiff was the 1st impression. I don't need a wide shoe with the NWs, they're plenty wide.

I need to get in a good club ride to get a good assessment of the shoe, but for now I'm initially very impressed.

UPDATE

Post fitting and dialing in the cleats these shoes are really good. I really enjoy the power transfer these shoes provide.

A better bike than I am a rider

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The bike is a bit large -- I'm enjoying the longer top tube as I have shorter legs and a long trunk.

I had some minor issues with the front derailleur but that was due to change anyways, I re-ordered the stem and spacers.

The rear derailleur and the brakes were dialed in perfectly. I'm tempted to setup a shorter stem -- this bike will then remind me of Gary Fisher's Genesis Geometry from the 1990s :D

The bike came with 700x23s the spec reads 700x25s. I was looking forward to hitting the road on 700x25s.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a Shimano chain and not the lower end chain on the bike.

Out of the box mods were

1. zero offset seatpost -- short legs and deep setback seatposts don't mix.

2. Arione saddle -- love 'em or hate 'em. I'm a fan boy :D

3. 11-28 cassette I have OFS == Old Fat and Slow and that 28 tooth helps in Western NC.

4. TTT 100mm stem replacing the 110 that came with the bike.

Looking forward to my first big ride with climbing, the frame is so much stiffer than my 2006 bike. It snaps with a quick acceleration versus lumbering slowly :-)

UPDATE -- rode for the first time and noticed the quick snap when accelerating. I have a great downhill left turn I like to take -- the bike cornered well and the tires laid into the turn nicely @ 24 mph.

I need to get my local mobile mechanic to help with a fit but this bike is amazing -- it's a better bike than I am a rider, it's making me more excited about riding.

After a few minor fit adjustments the best gets better. More comfort and a better pedal stroke after dialing in my fit/position. I'm a little late in my preparation for the Boone NC Gran Fondo but next year it's on the calendar. That and the Storming of Thunder Ridge in VA.

Great handling in turns, I have a 6 percent downhill left turn that I take on my local rides. I'm able to hit that turn @ 26 mph now with my confidence increasing.

I agree with the "skinny jeans" comment but I've really grown to like these shorts.

The Kiss3 pad takes a little getting used to -- I did notice after a few washes the pad compresses in the areas complained about in other reviews.

I'm getting into longer rides with these bibs and I'm really enjoying them. Overall a great bib at a great price.
