What can I say about this helmet other than it is excellent! Light weight, breathes well, great fit, and carbon! Kali was spot on with the design of this helmet. Not as big/bobble head like, compared to some other models out there, but still offers the same level of protection, and then some. Instead of MIPS, Kali went with their own version, known as LDL (Low Density Layer). These look like little lego's, but in a soft, squishy form. they are strategically placed through out the helmet, and work similar to MIPS, as if you hit your head, they help distribute the energy away from the impact zone, making it softer on your skull. Combine this with their nano fushion multi density EPS foam (self healing), and composite fusion dual direction geometrical triangle like peaks within the molding, and your head should always feel 100% I haven't had the opportunity to hit my head in one yet, but I would like to think it works well, as it has been heavily tested. Great example would be Nicoli Rogatkins crash at rampage in this helmet. I have copied a link below.

If you are looking for a new lid, this is a definite contender. It is a bit pricy, but well worth it. If you have any questions regarding this helmet, feel free to reach out to me at any time.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Do you like going fast, do you like aggressive trails, do you like jumps, and do you like big wheels with lots of travel? Well then, this is your rig! Point it down hill, let the brakes go, and hang on, cause this beast is ready to charge! It will do everything you can think of, and ask for more and more. Superb stablility at speed, corners surprisingly well based on how long this bad boy is, feels like a smaller bike while in the air, and even climbs at what I would consider an "impressive" rate. Weight of the bike was very reasonable based on how much travel it has with the big wheels. I have never been a big 29'er fan, but this bike definitely opened my mind a little more to the big wheels. It was flat out fun. I think my only negative with the bike was the handlebar and grips. they were extremely stiff in my opinion, and the grips were a bit bulky. Swapping these to a nice 31.8mm carbon bar, and a slightly thinner grip would make this set up perfect.

Tired of old, shabby, out of style jerseys? Need to up your game in the cool factor? Wife telling you that you stink, or need more sunblock? Look no further, as the Giordana Silverline jersey has you covered! Excellent color options and styles, so you will stay visible, and also snag a compliment or two just on looks. THEN people will compliment on how fit you look due to the excellent cut of the jersey. Definitely a next to skin fit, but a comfortable next to skin. I am generally a large T-shirt, and XL jersey in most Italian brands. I went XL in this with good results, but could probably fit a Large for a more aggressive fit no problem. They are cut a little long, so coverage around the mid section is great, and the sleeves are a little longer too, but very nice feeling. Do you have issues with the sun, need sunblock, or limited to time exposed to it? Well good news there, is that ALL Giordana jerseys are UPF 50+ rated, so say hello to better/longer summer rides with great protection. Did I mention the jersey also breathes great? Well if not, the jersey breathes great!! If you need a new jersey, this is definitely a great option to consider. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. jehall@backcountry.com

I have always been a big fan of bell/giro helmets. This one just upped my support level even more. First off, the fit is excellent. I have always been picky as far as helmet shape, especially with MIPS, and this one fits like a glove (Helmet??)Bell took it even further with their new full float helmet system, that works similar to MIPS with the helmet motion, but the full float gives it even better movement, all while fitting extremely well, and secure. The ventilation is excellent in this helmet also, with plenty of inlet vents, and large exhaust vents out to back to keep that air moving. The multi position visor is great, and can accommodate goggles for climbing and keeping the fog down. A new cool feature they have done is with the padding. At the front of the helmet, the padding has a small extended piece in the center of the forehead. This is designed as a point for sweat to flow to, and if it drips, it drips away from your face, rather than all over your face and eyes. I was skeptical about it at first, but it works surprisingly great. Two thumbs up from Bell. If you need a new helmet, this is definitely a top contender in my book. This little light puts out more than I thought it would. I wouldn't use it as my only light at night, but for an early morning/dusk ride, or late afternoon in to the evening, this light fits the bill. Multiple light settings from bright to dim, good flash options to keep the cars aware of you, and super compact and light. The USB recharge is nice as well. Ride to work, plug it in to your PC's USB port, and it will be ready for the ride back home.

If you are looking for a good, do it all bib, look no further. These are the ultimate do it all bib. Race a crit, climb a mountain, journey 120 miles, you will be covered regardless of the ride. Super comfortable fit, great chamois, and nice stretch on the bib straps. The fit is slightly snug, but not as bad as some other Italian brands I have tried. I am 5'10" with a 34 waist, and an XL fits me great. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions - jehall@backcountry.com

If you've heard of Hestra, then you know how good their gloves are. These do not disappoint! Excellent construction, breathe great, touch screen compatible, and the fit is very comfortable. For a sizing reference, I generally wear a large in Pearl Izumi, Fox, and Troy Lee gloves, and I got a 9 in these. The only reason I gave these a 4 star rating is the palm padding. I am not a fan of padding in any glove, and wish these came in a smooth, thin pad material.

Got this as my go to drink container, as my wife has one and I was a bit envious. Holds 32 ounces of water, is easy to fill/clean, easy access for ice, and the seal is great. No leaks that I have found after a bunch of use. The carry handle at the top is handy, and the notches in it to hold the drinking spouts lid is a nice touch.

I am not a big soda drinker, but these skratch mixes have ended all soda for me. The flavors are amazing, very well balanced, super easy on the gut, and put back in what you lose during daily life and exercise. The new passion fruit flavor is great. Has a bit of a sour punch to it, but it wears quick with a great after flavor. Lemons and limes is refreshingly light, and always hits the spot. I recommend this to all.

Skratch absolutely nailed it with these new bars! I have had all flavors, and I can't find one thing bad about each. the Cherry Pistachio is a well balanced mix of sweet and nutty, the chocolate almond bar is a bit sweeter, but still easy to eat, with great flavor, and the miso ginger, which is my favorite, is a spicy, gingery flavor of joy. I don't know how much I would like eating the miso ginger bar mid ride, but as an after ride treat, or a snack during the day, it can't be beat. These have replaced all my other bar choices, and for good reason, they work! If you haven't yet, I highly recommend giving these a shot.

What's not to love about this handlebar? Stiff, but enough flex to rid you of numb/sore hands, perfect amount of rise, backs weep and up sweep to keep your hands in their natural position, and durable. For being their first carbon bar, they nailed it! Have ridden these a full season and they still look great. The amount of detail Deity puts in their finish alone is top notch. Can't see myself riding any other bar.
