Comfortable all day

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used to wear heavier duty Race Face knee pads, but they rubbed the back of my knees raw. These are a little lighter duty, but I can wear them all day with total comfort.

I love that the spandex extends up enough to grip onto my padded liner.

I use Stan’s for my road bike and mountain bike, so I bought the quart jug. It’s effective, and the quart goes a long way.

All of the punctures that I’ve had on my treads have sealed, but if you slash your sidewall, nothing is going to save you. I know from experience, dude (said like Chris Farley in Billy Madison).

Familiarity: I've used it several times

On long rides, I experience minor hand numbness with normal grips. I installed these grips, and the numbness actually got worse.

These grips are well built and work for lots of people, but they aren’t a good fit for me.

I use this chain on my 1x11 SRAM NX drive train, and it works perfectly. Nothing exciting to report, really. In the chain world, that’s good news!

I have 30 teeth on my front chainring, and run an 11-42 cassette on the back, and the chain has links to spare, so it should fit large cassettes as well.

I love this rack for my MTB. It’s definitely high quality and it’s SO quick and easy to load your bike. The semi integrated cable lock is a really nice feature for the times that you are dropping by the grocery store on your way home from the ride.

I just took this rack on it’s first long drive from Tucson to Denver. Again, it was perfect for my MTB, but my rim brake road bike’s caliper gets pushed to the side, because the arm that secures the front wheel is so chunky that it hits the caliper from the side.

Long story short, I can’t imagine a better MTB rack, but if you are just looking for a road rack, I would recommend something from Thule or Yakima. Competitive cyclist has a GREAT return policy and even better customer service, so if it doesn’t work for you, no big deal! They always put the customer first!
