Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use it on road rides when the temps drop below 40. The material is thick enough, blocks wind well. There is not enough tension around the edges. Wind gets in freely. It turns your ears into cooling fins. it just does not protect the ears enough. I think it would be fine for hiking or mtb rides, just not good for road cycling.

Lobster gloves are warmer than regular gloves. Wind proofed. Good into freezing temps. Wrist coverage is good as long as you take time to tuck the inner liner underneath your jacket sleeve. Only down side is tucking the liner in on the second hand with lobster gloves on the first hand. ;-) I still wish someone would make lobster gloves with two fingers together without a liner separating the fingers. My skiing mittens allow all four fingers together which makes it very warm.
